In need of change. (kinda QOTD)

Not sure in what aspect, but there is part of me saying I need to change something. I just feel bored and in a rut lately, even with my cooking. I keep thinking I need to change my hair, which would probably pacify me, but every time I have an appt I chicken out and cancel it. When you feel like you need change, what do you do?

Re: In need of change. (kinda QOTD)

  • Feeling kind of the same way.  I think for me a lot of it is the lack of scheduled activities in the summer and inability to play outside for more than 15 minutes with the heat.  I am holding out until next month.  We have G's b-day, I am going to be on the preschool parent committee and meetings start in August, and the Fair.

What I really want to change is my workout routine.  I go to the Y do my thing, get the kids and leave - twice a week.  I used to be a 4-6 day a week regular at the gym, did spin multiple days a week.  Then I started having back problems and then kids.  I am thinking about going to the chiropractor to try to alleviate the back pain. Perhaps then I could start doing spin again!

  • When I/we need a change or feel like I/we are stuck in a rut, we usually get out of town, even for just a night.  We find that a change of scene clears the slate.

I am too chicken to do anything drastic to my hair, the most I would do is cut it.

  • I hear ya...I often change my hair or buy a new shirt or something. In fact I just did that yesterday at Kohls (and it was only $4). If I buy something I try to make it outside of my box (not black, white or gray). Sometimes I try to get myself to work out, but it's been really hard for me to find the time and motivation this summer.
  • I was thinking yesterday about how I'm sort of a change junkie... I get so excited about something new/different.

    Some of my favorites:

    • different hair cut and/or color
    • a new (or switching back to an older) purse/bag
    • rearranging our living room or bedroom
    • day trip to see out-of-town friends or family
    • try a new recipe
    • deep clean the car (wacky, yes - but a clean car WOULD be a change!)
    • new workout (which, sadly, would be any workout currently... I've been a total slacker for quite some time)
    • new music on Pandora, CD mix, iPod playlist, etc. -- LOVE good new tunes!
    • go on a walk with a totally different route somewhere in town
    • trip to the library or Barnes & Noble to enjoy some books or magazines that I wouldn't usually read
    • phone date with a friend I haven't talked to for a long time
Guess I got a little carried away with my list... Stick out tongue  Fun stuff!

  • Good stuff, skh! I'll have to try some of this.
