tv dismounter rec?

We are moving to Florida and I need to find someone to dismount our flat screen tv, on the cheap if possible. Any rec's? We live in Smyrna. I've already tried Home Depot and Lowes and they don't do it. The only other rec I have is from a company in buckhead that wants to charge over $300- please please help!

Thanks

Re: tv dismounter rec?

  • Umm... not to sound snarky, but why not do it yourself? It's not hard at all. Call a handy friend or neighbor to come help you. It depends on the type of mount, but the basic premise is you just have to remove the piece that secures the wall bracket to the tv bracket to lift/pull the tv off the wall.

Google it for a few videos and how-to's and you'll see it's not so bad. My DH has installed several of our friends' tv's and even had to redo ours after he originally hung it too high.

  • really- great idea- I will try to google it. I just figured it would be too hard, because most of the time it takes a professional to install it. I wish my husband was handy- I'm all on my own on this one, trying to figure it out-

    Thanks for the advice!

  • If it seems too difficult, you could try finding a general handy-man to do it. They'd charge less than a home theater company.

If you think about it - thieves can steal a wall-mounted tv very quickly - it must not be too hard, right?

ehhhhhhhhh.... not exactly. MrBAMFs is pretty, well, BAMF for a reason.

But I agree - just ask your friends. SOMEone is bound to have installed their own TV mount. Its truly not rocket science once you get the TV off the bracket.
