Since you're enabling me...
How is everyone today?
It's freaking HOT here. I just picked up some Rita's for a coworker's birthday. I can't wait til she comes back so we can eat, lol.
Re: Since you're enabling me...
It's 98 here...which isn't bad. A heat index of 102 is the killer though. WTF mate - I freaking hate this summer. And I know it's just as hot in most parts of the country, which sucks even more. Well, except for in Colorado Springs, apparently - H said it's not supposed to get past 90, and they've got another shot at rain. Whomp whomp.
Anyhoo. Today's been really slow. I had a meeting this morning, but that's about it. I need to go get my parents' anniversary card and an iPad case at lunch, and I'll spend the rest of the afternoon shopping for my sister's birthday present and preparing things for the next school year.
It's hot hot hot here too!
Margot turned 5 months today. This makes me happy and sad all at the same time.
I just went outside to bring our cloth diapers in from sunning and saw 2 sets of lizards humping. That would explain all the baby lizards around here these days!
Pam, I haven't had Ritas in a long time! I might have to make a trip there real soon! There's 1 right down the street from my house! Yummy!!
Kristen, I can't believe that Margot is 5 months already!! Where did time go? They don't stat babies long that's for sure!
I'm in the hot club as well. 84 and really humid (don't laugh, that's really warm for us!). I think it's supposed to rain later though, then we're back to temps around 80 or less and less humidity.
I'm farting around pretending that I'm swamped at work. Secretly I have one more hour, then I'll be watching Teen Mom on my laptop, followed by Secretariat since DH said he didn't really want to watch it.

Omg, too funny!
We are on day 19 IN A ROW of 100+ temps here. I'm sick and tired of the heat and it's seriously starting to depress me just a little. I know there is such a thing as the "Winter Blues" well, I get the "Summer Blues". I just absolutely hate being outside for any length of time right now which makes things pretty boring.
I'm also tired of being, well....tired all the time. I know it's typical for the first trimester, but it's getting old. The house is a mess, laundry is literally piling up, and DH and I are getting no quality time together. Last night my mom sent me a text at 9:30 which I didn't get until this morning because I was already asleep by then. Nice....I'm going to bed before my mom.
On a happy note...Amelia is FINALLY starting to walk on her own! The stubborn little stinker has been walking by pushing things for a couple months now, but until this weekend has had no interest in letting go. On top of that she's got so many teeth coming in I can't keep track of them all. Exciting times with our munchkin lately!
Amelia is going to be a big sister!
Kristen - Margot is five months?! Seriously?! I feel like time flies faster after babies are born...sheesh!
JENFEF - I quit counting the 100+ degree days after we hit like, 10. Where I live [Stillwater] hit 99 last week, so our streak stopped...may still be going strong in my hometown [Lawton], though. It's ridiculous. Hope you get to feeling better soon!
Ali - how are you feeling? That baby needs to come already! :P
EDIT: Lawton is on day no. 45 of 100+ degree temps. ZOMG that's ridiculous.
Ebonie - thank you for "WTF mate". I had to silent laugh at my desk for that reference.
Um, I'm not going to complain about our weather, because it's supposed to be mid- to upper-70s today. Nice.
I am going to complain about my stomach. Ever since yesterday morning, I've felt kind of barfy. I tried to run yesterday, made it less than a mile and almost puked. No bueno. This has to stop. Now.
I'm hanging in there. My stomach feels tight lately, but like all the time rather than on and off like a contraction. Tomorrow's my due date - I really wish I had a punctual child that would just show up on time!
The Sand in My Snow Boots
Well, I think the photoshoot was a huge success overall. Especially considering Darah showed up at 11am which is Piper's wake up and eat lunch time. Lovely. It took 2.5 hours, we got in 5 outfits/poses I think. I'm really pleased with what were were able to do considering how fussy she was. OF COURSE, she's been passed out ever since.
We got a lot of poop and bottled breastmilk all over the places, but as I explained to Piper, it's all worth that perfect picture of yourself.
I had horrific pains in my lower stomach, near my hip bone, that was sorta like a sidestich x's 1000. I called the doctor practically in tears and considered going to the ER. Well....15 minutes later, I think it was just gas. I feel like an idiot.
Thankfully my BFF was here with me otherwise, I may have considered calling an ambulance and that would have been embarrassing.
Running a ton of errands tonight with my mom and Piper, this should be extremely interesting to say the least. I need to head to Wegman's and find brewers yeast and flax seed meal to make lactation cookies.
Oh....and on a sorta funny note, but sorta not, some old lady drove her car through the front window of my liquor store today. I've only seen pictures, no one was hurt, but the floor to ceiling window plus our pull down steel doors will all have to be replaced. Thankfully the lady isn't hurt and neither is anyone inside the store. My grandpop did this twice in the past 5 years, so it's something I personally can laugh about, but it's really not funny I guess.
Darn it, my mom and I are supposed to go shopping tonight, but Greg asked me if I could get her to babysit and we could go to the movies....now I feel bad that he wanted to get out of the house. He's off from work tomorrow, maybe we can go then.
The Sand in My Snow Boots
Work has been so super busy this week. I look at my email inbox and start feeling all panicky. As soon as I feel like I'm making some headway, BAM! a million more emails pop up. I guess as long as I have lots to do, I get to keep my job, eh?
It's been a good day since I got off work, though. Rodgers had his sperm count this week. He is officially sterile! He said, "YES! Now I can get another wife and you won't be jealous about her having kids!" I told him that it's not potential other children I'd be jealous of, I don't want to share his penis with anyone. So he asked if I cared about him or just his penis. I said, "You are the penis." And now he's proud of being a penis.
Omg, too funny Rachel!
Marcy, been there, done that (about the gas pains!).
