I know that everyone knows that is CRAZY hot outside. I am new SAHM and now I trying to figure out what fun activies me and my 2 1/2 year old son can do at home indoors.
We already do learning activities: colors, shapes, number, alphabet, etc. I am looking for fun and creative activites that can help keep him busy and me sane.
Any suggestions??

Re: Summer Heat Wave
I'd suggest joining the Little Gym. I've met a couple of great moms there that I've been able to do play dates with.
Jumpzone is another favorite of my 3 year old. He is worn out after we get done there!
Early in the morning runs to the park help...the Science museum is great too. There's a lot for a 2-5 year old to do there. You might google the Jasmine Moran childrens' museum if you're interested in an all afternoon trip with him.
If I'm staying at home, we finger paint, read lots of books, play with trucks and tractors, and watch a movie. If you're teaching him all of the basics that he needs to know, you're on the right track.
Also, if you're bored, you might look into enrolling him into a mothers day out program somewhere. You can usually pick from letting him go 1-3 days a week and the pricing is very reasonable. It would give you around 5 hours to go grocery shopping, get your house cleaned, get a pedi, whatever. It's how I stay sane.
There are several of us here that have kids around your son's age, so stick around and start posting and come to a GTG sometime!
Thank you sooo much for all the suggestions!
We just moved from Edmond to Altus so it's been a whole new world for me staying at home all day with a very rambunkshus two year. I hope very much to try all you suggested. Thank you again!
