I just need to vent--and get my frustration out. I so hoped it was just the stress in my life--from my year from Hell at my old school, trying to find a new job, then the move, but now I am very worried and scared. My hair has literally not stopped falling out since Duncan was born--it's so thin and lifeless now and I used to have such thick shinny hair. It was one of the few things that I love(d) about myself (another issue for another time). There have been so many other little things--exhaustion, bruising at the slitest bump, big weight gain, nails that break all the time, etc., but I hate the hair thing most. Yes, it may sound a bit vain, but I seriously just cry after washing or even brushing my hair--clumps just fall out and it's everywhere, on the floor, blankets, my pillow-- I've found it in the food I've cooked (gross I know) and even in the laundry. I can't even run my fingers through it without some coming out. Jim tries to make me feel better about it, but it doesn't.
A few of you ladies helped me out with my thoughts of hypothyroidism, so I made an appointment with a doctor here. I can not wait till my appointment on the 1st of August--granted going to a new doctor for this is making me a nervous nelly. And I will have to wait on blood test results I'm hoping that it is hypothyrodism and I can begin to feel better before my new school year starts.
Thanks for listening...

I am so sorry that things aren't getting better. And I totally hear you on the hair. When I got sick in college and had it falling out in clumps I was so upset, I loved my thick hair. Unfortunately mine never grew back quite the same.
I hope the doctor's appt goes well. You're not that far now, so please let me know if you need anything.

I'm sorry, Kate! I hope you like your new doctor and they can find something to fix.
I'm not sure if you missed my tale of woe but I posted on FB how I went to the doctor suspecting hyperthyroidism because of exhaustion, weight loss (I know, I shouldn't complain), excessive hair loss, bruising at the slightest thing...I kind of wanted something to be wrong so we could fix it but everything came back fine and it's very frustrating so I hope you get some answers. (I'm looking into a second opinion).
FWIW, my hair loss got a bit better around 14 months post partum...it was pretty bad, my hair stylist definitely noticed.
