My lovely daughter's wedding dress is still hanging up in the guest room
It's going on two years.......
What did you do with yours? Clean? Clean and preserve in one of those box things? Nothing? And if you did something, what did you do and what did it cost?
I want my closet back
My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!
Re: Wedding dress question
MY BLOG!
Ha! Mine is hanging in my closet, uncleaned, untouched. I lie: I looked at it the other day and said, "I really need to get this cleaned." Yeah, I'll be taking it to the cleaner before the end of summer and getting it boxed up (that's the plan, at least).
I'm going local with the cleaner who estimates $300 plus extra for bead work or unique details. The idea of taking it to a cleaner who will ship it to God knows where scares me.
^Same. Mine was hanging in my mother's closet up until last weekend. I cleaned a whole bunch of old things out of there (finally) and remembered we still haven't done anything with it yet.
I've located a local dry cleaner that will clean and box it for me. I just haven't had time to take it over there yet. The lady told me it would be $200 and that the whole process would take about a month. I'll probably go drop it off some time this week.

I'm still trying to find something to wear it to again
haha...I am planning on getting it cleaned and preserved ...just haven't had the time or have forgotten
my currently-reading shelf:
I'm so glad there are others like me! Mine is also hanging in my closet, uncleaned. It wasn't very dirty so I kept putting off having it cleaned. Plus, I got estimates of $200+ to do it, so I wasn't in a rush.
Now, just a few months shy of 2 years later... it's still hanging there. I guess I see it every morning, which is nice
but I have no idea what I'm going to do with it. Part of me still wants to do a TTD photo session, but can you do that years after the wedding?! Haha!
I donated mine to brides against breast cancer. I didn't have a strong emotional attachment to it and figured any future daughters wouldn't want to wear it anyway (I definitely wouldn't have worn my mom's, only taken a piece of its fabric or something if it had survived the years).

Since we are reorganizing our house and setting up rooms for foster/adoption I just looked at mine the other day and thought I really need to get it cleaned and boxed. Currently it is my extra room hanging in the same condition it was the last time I wore it which was for my rock/trash my dress session.
