Re: Thursday Poll
1. If you eat peaches, do you peel them or eat the skin? I peel them and DH thinks I'm crazy, hence the question. But he doesn't eat peaches, so I don't know if he's weird or I am.

5. What kind of first impression did your SO make upon you when you met? I thought he was handsome but reserved. He's often uncomfortable meeting new people, which I found out later.
6. What book do you think everyone should read? Outlander. I just think Diana Gabaldon is a genius and it's an incredible story. And Harry Potter, of course. I side eye anyone who's seen the movies but never read the books.

I am not wild about my job (mindless, no contact with people, same thing every day) but I recognize that I have great hours, good benefits, and good promotion potential. My job allows me to work to live, not live to work, and that has become increasingly important for me.
3. If you could meet someone famous, living or deceased, for lunch today, who would you choose? Um, is this a joke? Stevie Nicks, duh. But I'd also love to have lunch with Jackie O.

4. If you could improve one thing about yourself, what would it be? Be more motivated to keep up an exercise routine. I get bored and slink back into my lazy ways too easily.
5. What kind of first impression did your SO make upon you when you met? He was quiet when I first met him but I thought he had pretty eyes and a cute smile.
6. What book do you think everyone should read? Tough one. The Book Thief is the last truly moving book I can remember reading.I'm with you here, and I side-eye the people who are all "oh I hate Harry Potter, I would never read it" but have never read a single book from the series OR seen a movie.
1. If you eat peaches, do you peel them or eat the skin? Until the last week or so, I never realized peeling a peach was an option. (I live in a hole apparently). 3. If you could meet someone famous, living or deceased, for lunch today, who would you choose? - Is it bad that I really don't have any idea who I'd choose for this? I guess I've just never really considered it, and there's no one jumping out at me currently... But hey, I DO know who I'd want to have lunch w/ that's not famous, so at least I'm not totally indecisive!
4. If you could improve one thing about yourself, what would it be? - I'd stop stressing over the little things! I've been making a conscious effort not to as much, but it's tough.
5. What kind of first impression did your SO make upon you when you met? - I thought he was irritating. We met at a freshman orientation session in college, and it was wayyyyy early on a Saturday morning. He was totally chipper and talking to EVERYONE in our group, and I was over the orientation activities and therefore was not interested in being overly social, and he would.not.stop.talking. I walked out and complained to my roommate (who had been in a different group) about the "annoying guy." Good thing opinions change.
6. What book do you think everyone should read? - Oh, where to begin?! I've got a lot that I could list here, but I'll stick to two - The Giver, b/c it makes you think, and Outlander, b/c it's a fantastic book.
... every single day of forever.
1. If you eat peaches, do you peel them or eat the skin? Eat the skin, I've never seen anyone peel them. Plus most of the nutrition is in the skin (I tell DH this as he peels apples and complains about it).

4. If you could improve one thing about yourself, what would it be? My weight
5. What kind of first impression did your SO make upon you when you met? Haha sadly, my first thought was that he had money. He was dressed nicely and had a super expensive watch. I found out on our first date that his parents are jewelers and the watch was a HS graduation present. But that was just the first visual impression, before I talked to him. My first impression of his personality was that he was old-fashioned and polite.
6. What book do you think everyone should read? I could name a thousand books. I'll just name a few that had lasting effects on me: Native Son, The Color Purple, Watership Down, The Canterbury Tales, and of course the entire HP series.

4. If you could improve one thing about yourself, what would it be? - motivation/procrastination
5. What kind of first impression did your SO make upon you when you met? LOL...my overwhelming impression can be summed up in one word..."damn." He's not really conventionally handsome (sorry honey!), but there is something about that man that has made my knees weak since the first word I ever spoke to him. We were on a project team together and I had a boyfriend at the time. I practically drooled on him. And he knew it too.
6. What book do you think everyone should read? This is hard. I don't think I have an answer. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is the only think that I can bring to mind, but if i think about it I can probably come up with another 2 dozen. Everybody should read more.
My Goodness...another food blog. Featuring: Macarons from a old post with a photo taken by my mom for a break from my crappy food photos!
Julia Child. I bet she'd be fun to eat with.4. If you could improve one thing about yourself, what would it be?

A really, really good one.6. What book do you think everyone should read?
Harry Potter! I get sad when I hear of people who refuse to read it.

Cooking with Crouton: A Food Blog
1. If you eat peaches, do you peel them or eat the skin? I usually say a prayer that it's just the right amount of ripe and bite in skin and all...but if it's not it's like nails on a chalkboard. I should really just start peeling them.
2. What do you do for a living? What would you like to do for a living? I'm a corporate attorney focusing on mergers and acquisitions - particularly public company. I would *love* to take a step back from this in the not-to-distant future, spend some time staying at home with DS, and develop a career in writing.
3. If you could meet someone famous, living or deceased, for lunch today, who would you choose? Maddox. The 2 1/2 weeks I had off were blissful and I miss him terribly right now.
4. If you could improve one thing about yourself, what would it be? My patience and temper - especially with DH these days since we're so overextended.
5. What kind of first impression did your SO make upon you when you met? Well, I was 15 and he was the hot 23 year old brother of my cousin's new wife. He also had Elvis-style sideburns - so I thought he was dreamy in an untouchable, 1950's sort of way.
6. What book do you think everyone should read? The HP Series is the first thing that comes to mind.

1. If you eat peaches, do you peel them or eat the skin? I eat the skin. I'm way too lazy to peel them.
2. What do you do for a living? What would you like to do for a living? I'm a software programmer. I'm not sure what I'd like to do for a living - that's my current problem. I think I want to do something organizational or administrative. But since my one and only job since graduating from college is my current job, I think my options are limited.
3. If you could meet someone famous, living or deceased, for lunch today, who would you choose? JK Rowling
4. If you could improve one thing about yourself, what would it be? My health, including my weight and eating habits.
5. What kind of first impression did your SO make upon you when you met? We met on Match.com so my first impression was based on his profile and I thought it showed him as cute, smart, and a little on the dorky side. After meeting him in person I loved that he was cute and shy
6. What book do you think everyone should read? The HP Series. The movies don't do it justice!
