The last few days have me wondering...just how much trashy TV do we all watch and are we alone in our trashy TV loves? So, what are you watching? What is too much for you?
I watch:
For sure trashy - RHONJ, Big Rich Texas, Kendra/Girls Next Door, Real World
Maybe trashy? - Teen Mom, 16 and Pregnant, Giuliana and Bill, True Life
Not trashy, just mindless - Heavy, Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss and Biggest Loser
Too much for me: Jersey Shore, Bridezillas, any other RH franchise, any kind of Real World-esque challenge, Jerseylicious, Big Brother
As they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure...so feel free to disagree with any of the above! ![]()

Bio
I actually don't watch any of those... but I'm an unashamed LONG time addict of "America's Next Top Model", and I'd consider that fairly trashy.
I also never miss a good "Law & Order : SVU" marathon, and while that's an award-winning show and all, it's still probably not worth filling my brain with!
I love 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom.
I just caught up on the latest Teen Mom last night and ... oh my goodness. I can hardly watch the Amber/Gary scenes. Anyone else totally shocked? I mean, I shouldn't be considering what she did to him last season ... but the fact that she's blaming everything on him ... wow. It blows my mind that she (or anyone) could think like that.
I'm probably the only one, but I don't watch any of these. Mark usually commands the remote in the living room and I'm forced to watch weird survival shows and things about diseases and gangs.
When I do have some TV time, I watch Bones and NCIS re-runs, House Hunters International, etc.
I've tried watching some of the corny reality ones and I guess I don't really understand the draw. *shrug*
I don't get to watch much trashy TV anymore. I use to watch Girls Next Door, Keeping up with the Kardashians, True Life, Bridezilla, SYTTD, and a few others I can't remember. I've never been into the Jerseyshore or Real World type shows.
DH is a remote hog and TV is always on sports. I don't mind but I can only watch so many Red Sox and Rangers games. I usually read my "What to expect when expecting" book or playing on my phone. I could go watch TV in the bedroom but then after about 20 minutes DH will come in there and ask me why I don't want to spend time with him. Our only time together at night is after the kiddo goes to bed and we are sitting on the couch watching tv until I pass out. At least summer TV will be over soon and we can get back to the shows we both like to watch together!
I don't watch any of those shows, either. But, sometimes when I'm cleaning or just need the TV on for noise, I will turn it to E! and watch the Kardashian shows. I don't keep up with it regularly, though.
I watched this yesterday and I was shocked too. I really think she is bat sh!t crazy and that they need to get her daughter far, far away from her.
I used to be really good about only watching a few shows but being home in the afternoons for the summer is killing me. I actually watched a documentary about the International Air Guitar Championships yesterday afternoon. Not kidding.
I'm not sure where the Real Housewives falls in there but I will only watch NJ/NYC. I loved The Voice too.
Other than that, we only watch truly scripted shows. Also I love Mondays and Tuesdays on USA: Monday is Law and Order CI day and Tuesday is Law and Order SVU day. If there is nothing interesting to me on TV, I will find a movie in our On Demand section of cable. We have all the movie channels so I can usually find something to entertain me. I will be very sad tomorrow when "Easy A" disappears from the Starz section. I've watched that movie quite a bit since school got out.
I love Dexter, Grey's, Happy Endings, and shows like that but I don't necessarily think they're trashy.
After y'all were talking about Bones last week I tried to watch the pilot on Netflix and I just didn't really get into it. Should I give it a few more episodes? Normally I can tell after the first if I'm going to like something, but sometimes things take a few more to get going.
Oh I watch LOTS of "trashy TV!" I also read lots of gossip websites, follow reality stars on Twitter, love reality blog writers.
I should probably be ashamed, but I am not. I don't feel like TV rules my life and I enjoy the "escape" these mindless things offer me.
Some of my faves (DH watches some of these with me and watch lots of his BS TV, too): Teen Mom, Jersey Shore, RH of NJ/OC, Bill and Guliana, Tori and Dean, RW/RR Challenges, Big Brother, Flipping Out, Hollysworld, True Life, Audrina's Show, Laguna Beach and all the spin-offs.
The other night when I got back from my walk, DH was bored with baseball and was channel surfing. He "somehow" stopped on and watched Teen Wolf on MTV. He may bag on me for my TV choices, but that was the MOST ridiculous show I have ever seen!
I love watching Bachelor/ette. I have never missed a season.
Some shows I watch on occasion that are kinda trashy... Kardashians, Kendra/Girls Next Door and Giuliana & Bill.
Shows I love, but really don't consider trashy... SYTYCD, Project Runway, Say Yes to the Dress and House Hunters.
I agree with this
ETA: Some of my current summer favorites include all of the RW/RR Challenges, Real Housewives of NJ, Master Chef, Hell's Kitchen, Expedition Impossible. During the planning stage I watched Four Weddings & SYTTD. I find that I watch much more of reality during the summer since there aren't new scripted shows.
Also love My First Place, House Hunters, House Crashers, Property Virgin, but I don't consider them trashy.
Bio Good Times
Hey this is not trashy! I love watching it with my daughter. And I don't know if it's trashy but she has gotten me hooked on Hell's Kitchen.
I don't watch much TV but I do watch the Bachelorette and I never miss Toddlers and Tiaras. I would say those are both in the trashy category.
With All the Trimmings
Just do it!
I did watch the first season of the gypsy wedding show but I think I'm over it. I forgot that I did that now that it's over.
And to the few of you who watch RH of NYC: Alex and Simon annoy the holy cow out of me. Really. A lot.
Have you gotten to the episode where Bethany says something like "well that's great that your kids can say their alphabet in French but if they don't know their manners or how to act in public what good is it doing them or anyone?" or something like that. It's funny. And so true. Those kids are HORRIBLE, spoiled, rotten little brats.
Oh, but they can sing twinkle twinkle little star in 5 languages.

I think I saw that episode on Monday or Tuesday.
Right now I'm at the episode where they get the piano for the older one and they're talking to him about how wasn't it wonderful that so and so from the Piano Whatever of Wherever played the piano for him? I looked at that kid and was like "He doesn't care. He doesn't care about jerk face, he doesn't care about this piano, he doesn't care about the piano lessons and you should discipline your kids a little better."
I watched season three yesterday when Ramona renewed her vows (17 years?) and it's Bethenny's last episode. I'm a little sad that she and Jill didn't truly patch things up.
Lastly, I don't think that I will ever try Pinot Grigio thanks to Ramona.
Bravo has been doing marathons during the day this week.
I've never watched much reality TV but even less now. My patience and attention span is limited lately.
I used to be all about Teen Mom and I even tried watching 16 & PG this past season but I gave up a few episodes in. Part of the reasoning being Amber (and somewhat Farrah and her stupid boob job). Instead I just read recaps instead of spending my time on their drama.
I do enjoy Kendra when it's on- I'll catch it in repeats. DH can only tolerate so much of her and will leave the room if a marathon is going on.
I used to love the Kardashians but this year I've given it up for some reason. I have no interest anymore.
I've heard of Giuliana and Bill but I have never seen it on our TV guide (we do get E! so I don't know what the deal is) so I've never seen it. They did say on Chelsea Lately last night they just started filming again or were about to start filming.
Based on past posts, our DH's watch a lot of the same stuff. DH's big thing the past few weeks has been Bigfoot. I can only tolerate so much of it.
G&B come on the Style channel but they show the previous season on E, so you can see them on there if you don't have Style.
Well no wonder. I don't know if we have Style, I'll have to look.
Oh I do love me some Fashion Police. I don't know if that's trashy or not.
She might be crazy but she (and Joe to a certain extent) aren't crying the whole time about the bankruptcy. I like that he went and got a job and she's trying to bring in money any way she can (and thankfully, it's legitimate).
