S/O Nightstand: Earplugs

So....I sleep with a few light snorers. H and the dog. I have a fan to help drown out the snoring, and sometimes put a pillow over my head if nudging and rolling them over doesn't help. I'm curious about earplugs though. For the people that use them at night, do you think they really cut that much noise? Is there a certain kind you would recommend?

I used to (I can't now that I am on baby monitor watch)...they really helped cut out the snoring from DH. He would just bring them home from work (he works in the office of a manufacturing company). I highly recommend it! DH actually brought them home as a peace offering when I was pregnant and cranky that I had not gotten any sleep the night before. Embarrassed

I'd LOVE to wear earplugs but I cant because I'm on call and because of Ben. DH's snoring is so bad I'm almost to the point where I am going to sleep in the spare bedroom so I can get GOOD sleep. I'd definitely try the earplugs, my sister swears by them!

I'm normally a heavy sleeper and no snoring in my house, so generally I don't use them. However, when Andy is out of town I am on edge and I hear every.damn.noise at night. Seriously a mouse fart would wake me up. So I use earplugs for those nights, and it definitely helps.

YES!!!! But, you can't use the foam orange ones that they pass out at the plants. I use some soft plastic/rubber ear plugs that have ridges on them. That keeps the noise out for me. I get them at Meijer in the hunting/fishing section. Let me know if you want to know the exact brand. I will admit that I do feel guilty because if one of the kids wakes up, I'm not going to hear it - DH will.

I sleep with ear plugs every night (usually purple ones from the Meijer pharmacy area). My kids are good sleepers now, but when DS yells or cries during the night I can still hear him. When they were babies, I would sleep on my side and just have a plug in the ear that was not against the pillow. It helped muffle the snoring but I could still hear the kids.
