Has anyone ordered any wine online yet?

I know with the current weather, ordering wine isn't the smartest thing to do, but has anyone taken advantage of our new "freedom"?

I signed up for Lot 18, but haven't bought anything yet.

DH had to go to NoVa early this morning for a meeting and stopped at a TJ's down there on his way back, and bought 10 bottles of wine while there- stuff we bought and enjoyed when we were on vacation.

Re: Has anyone ordered any wine online yet?

  • The last time I checked there was only 8 or 10 wineries who got the proper permitting and none blew me away so I didn't order anything.
  • Is there a place to check who does have permits? I got a postcard in the mail from "California Wine Club" indicating that they were now shipping to Maryland and was confused because I didn't think the permits covered clubs, but I guess maybe the club is a partnership between actual wineries and the shipments come directly from the wineries and not a distributor?

This is the same as Lot 18 and I believe wine.woot.com, I believe that in many of these instances the wine is shipped directly from the winery making it OK.

  • I haven't, but I joined Lot 18 after you posted the invite link on your FB wall a few weeks back.

  • I mainly lurk, but I am really grateful for this link.  Thanks so much!
  • Didn't order it, but we received a gift from someone who was visiting California... it was kind of a pain because DH had to pick it up from UPS... but the package was really cool!
