bad haircut - WWYD?

I went to a new stylist a couple days ago and hate my hair.

I asked him to cut 5 - 6 inches off but he cut off over a foot.  It reached my waist and now it barely reaches my shoulders.  I said something to him as soon as he cut the first chunk but he said it's was too late to go back.  I was so stunned I didn't even know what to do.

I told him I wanted to keep my longish side swept bangs but apparently he didn't feel like paying attention to that either.  Because of the way he blow dried it (I have curly hair), I couldn't tell what he did with the bangs.  After he was done drying it, I asked him a couple of times if I could dry them the way they were when I went in and he said yes.  I washed it this morning and I have no bangs.

Also, I there are 2 clumps of hair that are a good inch longer than the rest of my hair.

I can cut the bangs myself and the two clumps but I'm so beyond furious that I paid $90 and this is what I got.  WWYD?

    I would definitely call and speak with the Owner/Manager. If they want you to come in and talk, as awkward as it may be, go in. Tell them that you wanted 'xyz' done and you got 'abc' done.

    Cutting too much off, there's no way to fix it unfortunately. I hope they give you a free service or a refund. $90 is a lot to spend on something you hate.

  • Go back to the salon and ask to speak with the manager or call and ask to speak with the manager. I'd tell him or her pretty much exactly what you wrote and tell him/her how he or she can make it better for you (money back, free re-do, free extensions, etc).

     

  • Definitely call the manager. The fact that he cut your hair too short is a problem, but it's even worse that he didn't even give you a decent hair cut. You shoudl ask for a refund and to come in and have it fixed (by someone else) for free. That stinks!

  • Aimkins, I am crying and I'm sure PMS isn't making it any better.

    I just got off the phone with the manager and I'm going in in a couple hours to have a different stylist fix it for free.  The manager was extremely nice about it so that's a relief.  I'm still so shocked by how short it is.

  • Oh man, that sucks.  I'd be furious and crying too.  I would probably still try and get a refund in addition to having someone else fix your hair.

  • I'm getting my hair cut on Sunday (short) and I'm terrified of this happening. I would definately still speak to a manager after your next hair cut and let them know that you are still unhappy with the situation.
  • The new stylist fixed everything as best she could.  It wasn't just the couple chunks that were too long.  She showed me sections that were supposed to be the same length and they were way off.  She ended up washing and redoing the entire cut to make things as even as she could.  They layers are all screwy so it should be interesting as it grows out.

    Thanks everyone for the encouragement to call them.  I hate situations like this.
