Hell, yeah. That ain't happening here.
Funny enough, when we bought our house, my MIL told me that she wishes they could have bought it for us. Then said since she couldn't she wouldn't get us a house warming gift either.
Very odd. And I never asked for a gift. She is just weird.

That got a for real lol. People are strange!
My uncle's in-laws (married in 2001) bought them a $400k+ home for the wedding gift and paid for the decor/furnishings of their choice. This was on top of the $500K wedding for their almost 40 year old daughter.
I am grateful that my FIL pays for our plane tickets when we come visit!
my IL's are special, so this is beyond the realm of reality for me.
i may ask my mom to spot me $$ for a boob job one of these days, though, if insurance turns me down.

My sister's ILs have given them well in excess of $1million with no end to the money train in sight.
agreed. Sure would be nice.
DH has an ex-coworker who is still friends with. He asked her today what she is doing to pay her bills since she is out of work currently. She told him nothing except for being the "heart and soul" of her Dad's company. He put her on the payroll for doing basically nothing. So funny.
