My mom got me this book as a shower gift. It is an easy read and gives some good advise about going back to work, breastfeeding and pumping.

Re: Ashlee RE: Breastfeeding
How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?
BFP-2/25/11; 8 Wk U/S-3/25/11-No HB, measured 6.5 wks; D&C
The best advice I got for pumping at work, logistically -
Monday's pump results go to dc on Tuesday.
Tuesday's pump results go to dc on Wednesday.
Wednesday's pump results go to dc on Thursday.
Thursday's pump results go to dc on Friday.
Friday's pump results go to the back of the freezer.
Oldest freezer bm goes to dc on Monday.
Sikes and Pookie - yes, please!
Madisen - Thanks, I'll use that schedule! Did you measure the milk in bottles and send the bottles in the diaper bag, or in a little cooler/lunch box?
Yes, I measured the milk out myself for the bottles. James' dc has a fridge in the infant rooms and I'd just transfer the bottles from the diaper bag to the fridge when we got there.
We never warmed any bottled milk or formula for James at home, but at his dc that had a crockpot filled with water where they would warm the bottles before giving them to the kids.
Thanks for this schedule! I would assume that if you didn't pump enough in a day to cover what LO eats at dc the next day then you supplement by sending some frozen milk you have saved?
That's right. If I didn't pump enough the day prior, I'd dip into my freezer stash.
When my pumping wasn't yielding 15+ oz a day anymore and my stash was all gone, I started sending two bottles bm, one bottle formula to dc.
Thanks for the info Madisen! How did you determine how many ounces LO was eating in a day prior to sending them to DC?
We currently go to a breastfeeding support group 2 times a week since I am working from home and I can weigh him pre and post feed, but the number of ounces he takes in varies depending on when he last ate so I really don't know how much he is eating each feeding.
We don't warm bottles either. He has no problem taking cold or almost room temperature milk. This works great with our constantly on the go lifestyle. I highly recommend trying it.
This was a big question for me too. The teachers at James' dc were very helpful in gauging it. I started out sending 4 bottles of 3oz each. After the first week, they suggested 3 bottles of 4oz each.
They were also very good at letting me know they felt James still seemed hungry after finishing his bottle. I think he went up to 3 bottles of 5 oz each around the 5 month mark and 3 bottles of 6 oz each a few months after.
We never warmed bottles either. I had to supplement some and it was so nice to be able to just take a bottle with the powdered formula measured out in it already and then just pour water from a regular water bottle into it to feed him. SO convenient.
B's daycare really helped us gauge how much milk we needed to send for him too, which was great since he rarely got BM bottles at home.
