I am just going to put this out there because this is something that I would assume is obvious, but apparently is not.
If one of your friends/coworkers/family members/employees becomes pregnant do not tell her she is getting chubby. Do NOT send her an email complete with exercises to help with her problem areas. She knows she has gained weight. Even if she has gained the perfect amount of weight according to her doctor she will still feel self conscious when you point out what you see is a weight issue. Thanks!
Re: PSA RE: Pregnant Women
I've been learning over on the national boards that I assume far too much common sense than most people actually have. You have to tell us which category this awful person falls into--friend, family, employer?
employer. Ha ha ha. She is worried about my "chubby face" for fear that in later life it may become jowls.
I am not kidding.
Holy crap. What is wrong with people? Jeez. What did you say?
What a jerk.
She sent it in an email along with a question about an appointment for next week. So I just ignored that whole part about my face, and responded to the appointment part.
Unbelievable. And she has kids of her own! You would think she would know better.
I have to admit, I'm curious what kind of exercises are supposed to help with jowl prevention. I can't even imagine what you would do for that.
I need to push my face on the sides particularly close to the jaw upwards. I need to stretch up my neck and push up. I should do this whenever I have time. I should buy a massager too so I can massage the area where the jowls will possibly be later down the road.
Someone sent you an email?
Really?
It always blew my mind how many people felt free to comment on my pregnant body. I was always thinking, "Yo, b!tch. I'm growing a human. What is your excuse?"
And for the record, I loved my pregnant body, the curves I got, and the way my face filled out.
And the kicker is, it doesn't get better. People STILL feel free to comment on my body, even 8 months post-partum. And guess what? I STILL like my body. Not saying there aren't problem areas as a result of having a baby, but I am so amazed by what my body did and have a deep appreciation for it now.
Oh that is awful.
The only thing I felt uncomfortable with (before getting this email ha ha ha) was my chest. It is really big, and before my belly grew I just looked....ridiculous really. Now I am just like "hmmm...really my face is that fat that you think you need to help me??"
