fridayyyyyy

too tired to post.

100 degrees yesterday, already 84 at 6:45 this morning.  no AC in the house.  we slept downstairs on the couches because it was slightly cooler than upstairs.  Maybe 5 hours of sleep?

dead.

Re: fridayyyyyy

  • I think this is the first time in a long time that I don't want weekends to come b/c I don't want to go back to work.  12 days left...

K and I went to see truck pulls on Wednesday night while MIL watched Baby Q.  She didn't put the baby to bed when I asked her to, so he was super cranky & tired yesterday.  But I already had an appointment to get my haircut (SO badly needed) so she had the baby again yesterday afternoon, and didn't put him down for a nap.  Poor kid was so tired last night he was asleep by 6 pm and aside from feedings slept til after 7 this morning.

The haircut is awesome though.  Chin length bob.  Haven't had my hair this short in years and it's wonderful.  Went swimming in SIL's pool yesterday afternoon, too.  The pool was like bathwater, but still better than nothing.

Camping out in the AC today.  Too freaking hot to do anything.  Tanner is running around outside now since it's actually below 90.

  • hey all!

    Happy friday!

It's rainy and gloomy here.  Sad  And hot!  Oy!

Susie-  What's up with MIL not putting baby to bed or nap??  That would drive me nuts!!!

  • Susie, I can't believe it's almost time to go back to work.  Crazy!  Are you guys putting BabyQ in daycare?  Also - pics of the new haircut, please!!

I am happy to report that our AC standoff ended yesterday!  K called the place to come out and give us a quote, so I rushed home to meet him.  (It was 90 degrees inside our house when I got there!!)  The guy took all the measurements to give us a quote then told me he'd take a look at the unit just to see what was going on.  Turns out the connector plug (??) was pulled out.  He reconnected it and the AC started right up!  I'm assuming when we had our windows and shutters replaced a few months ago, they knocked it loose.  Thank sweet baby, AC-fixin' Jesus that we got some relief last night!  And I'm sure the electric bill will reflect that next month - the damn thing ran for 5 hours straight and still only cooled to 83.  Just having the humidity gone was soooooooooooooooo sweet, though.

  • Happy Friday!  Even hotter than yesterday.  It was 90 degrees already at 7:30AM driving in to work!  H and I hung out in the basement last night where it was a good 10-15 degrees cooler than the rest of the house.  Tonight I'm hoping to go out to dinner somewhere where it's nice and cool because I'm not interested in turning on the oven or standing in front of a hot grill outside.  Last night we made cold cut sandwiches.

Today it's just me and one other co-worker in my office!  We are both unmotivated.

Woohoo!!!! Are you guys still going to replace the unit?

Baby Q will be going to DC M/W/F to start.  I'll be working from home T/Th and keeping him home with me for now.  He still sleeps so much (and is entertained enough by his swing/playmat) that it will be pretty easy for me to WAH with him around.  Probably when he starts walking he'll go to DC 5 days a week.

  • Oh!  And, sad that Myra Kraft, the wife of the New England Patriot's owner, Bob Kraft, passed away from cancer this week.  Her funeral is going on right down the street from me today in Newton.  A parade of limos have been driving by my hospital.  Donald Trump is there, along with many of the Patriots players.  Kind of exciting, but lousy reason for them all to come together.

Could the NFL lock-out end today?  It's possible!  Looking forward to seeing how the players vote.  Enough is enough!

  • Morning all! It's Friday, and our heat is slightly better than it has been all week. It's supposed to start letting up over the weekend. Calling for high 80's all week. That's at least something we can handle.

I am excited to see some traffic at my etsy shop... I have already had one item "favorited" and my shop itself has been "favorited" once as well. WHOO! Spent yesterday picking up items to have on hand in case I actually get an order. Hopefully I actually GET some orders so I don't just have stuff sitting around. We'll see. Also dropped off a resume, and was told to check back next week, so maybe something will come of that as well.

Today I am working on a few vinyl items (a set of paw print decals with my doggies names for my car) and vaccuming, dishes, and laundry are yelling at me to get moving.... Hope everyone has an awesome day!

That's awesome that you can work from home at least two days a week.  I know it's not the same as being at home with him all the time, but at least you have those two days to look forward to. :-)

Yeah, we're still going to replace the AC.  It's on its last leg as it is, but at least we have some relief in the meantime.  The guy who came out yesterday was like, "Holy crap!  This unit was installed when I was in 8th grade!"  Not exactly efficient or reliable...

  • Sunshine- YAY on solving the AC issue (did you have to pay for the "service call"?

Shauni- Isn't this your weekend to do nothing but sleep?

Susie- Boo on MIL not putting baby Q to bed, and boo to going back to work. YAY on the new haircut though!

  • Susie~E's grandma was and still is the same way. I always made E sleep by herself in her own bed, grandma let her sleep with her. She never followed nap or bedtime rules or even eating schedules.

Shauni~it's 63 right now. Not to brag but its nice :-)

City~My household needs the lockout to end. Toby is driving me fricken nutso with it.

    That's all I can remember.

E came home last night! She got home late at 10 and we stayed up talking til 12 :-) Bad mom award but I missed her so much and she was being entirely too cute. We are both dragging arse today but oh well :-)

  • I don't want this baby to be born in a world without football and basketball. Especially because the Pat's will be in the Super Bowl in honor of Mrs. Kraft. Also, we need football so Greg can make good money at work. A football season in our family is a MUST!!! Basketball we can deal without.

No plans for this weekend. Maybe I can get Greg to go registar. He was so cute last night being all excited! I almost think he is more excited than I am. He's gonna be such a good daddy.

Nothing else really to report. I lead such a lame life.

Nope.  Didn't have to pay.  I felt a little bad like I should have given the guy something for driving all the way out there in shiitty DC rush hour traffic, but he declined it.  I guess he pretty much knows we're still getting a quote and planning to replace it anyway, so maybe that's why?  Either way, I got a break yesterday.  I'll have to pass along some of that good karma. :-)

    Fourth Anniversary

Thank the little baby jesus it's Friday, because I'm so tired.  This morning sickness has got to stop!

I was so punchy yesterday at a meeting (it was small, don't worry!) that when this girl was saying we were 'going back' to the old way of doing such-and-such, I jokingly sang, 'we're going, going, back, back.'  Luckily she lol'ed, and nobody else really heard it or understood.

We have friends visiting this weekend, arriving tonight.  I'm so looking forward to seeing them, but a little anxious as well.  They started TTC a little before us, and we actually got KTFU after a weekend at their house.  I can't control when I ovulate, obvs, so we had to do the deed while visiting.  I hope she's not good at math re: the months, because I did make the mistake of sharing that weekend that I was going to O any day now.

Sunshine, yaaaaay for the standoff ending, and the good karma guy.  So glad you'll at least have AC while you figure out what kind of new unit to get, and I'm sure your bill will go down once you get a new one in.

Susie, I agree, pics of the new haircut!  And I am super jealous you'll get to WAH two days a week.  I'm negotiating right now about my leave, and asking that, when I'm starting to transition back that I be allowed to WAH a few days a week.  We have laptops and can VPN, but we have so many dang meetings that it makes it hard to be away from the office.  Not all of them have phone conference available.

  • Sunshine - glad AC was simple fix

Susie - want pics of the new haircut! And boo for having to go back to work!

TGIF! Not much to report. Jeremy's been freezing and I've been burning up in the house. And his incision site has started bleeding so big boy who thinks he's ready to cut grass and whatnot, is doing nothing today. I'll be glad when this nurse job of mine is over. I really need to cut the backyard but it's so effing hot out, I just haven't done it yet. Either tonight or in the morning for sure.

No big plans for the weekend. We're getting my two nieces Saturday night/Sunday and they'll spend the week with us. I'm super excited and can't believe I haven't gotten them already this summer.

  • I am still dragging ass today. I have been lucky to sleep in lately too, but I am still just exhausted.

The weather is finally starting to cool off here meaning the high is only supposed to be 84 instead of 95. Our a/c is finally up and running at work too...yay!

DH and I are going to a family wedding next weekend and then are vacationing the following week in the Traverse City, Mi area. I am looking forward to camping, swimming, winery tours, and the fabulous b&b we are staying at. Only 6 more days :)

  • Damn, there's a lot of pregnants up in here!

There's like no one at work today. Part of me wants to go home, but I know the AC isn't on and I don't want to wait 2-3 hours before my house gets to an acceptable temperature. Leaving my bedroom was HARD this AM. We have a window AC unit in our bedroom, in addition to the central air, so at night we only cool down our room instead of spending $$$ to keep the whole house cold. I opened the bedroom door and hit a wall of heat and humidity. H laughed at me as I slammed the door shut and dove back into bed.

H is being an anti-guy and hoping for lockouts for both the NFL and NBA. It'll give everyone else a taste of what us hockey fans had to deal with a few years back. Stick out tongue

Eh, I'll be screaming at the tv anyway, so if it does end up being a superbowl baby, I'll just be screaming for 2 reasons.

  • Back to the grind w/150 emails Sad after a fun day at the waterslide park. Didn't get too burned, just brown on my shoulders and slightly in front. My neck and upper back are sore from two of the slides. One of our nephews had a lobster red face bad...I applied sunscreen on him twice  (his brother didn't get too red) but I think because he has fair skin it got the worst of him.

This weekend - we are having youngest nephew (5 yrs old) sleep over tonight since he wanted to have a sleep over - so probably burgers or pizza for dinner and I'll take him grocery shopping with me, ha-ha. And getting stuff done around the house and relaxing. Sunday I'll go for a run and then off to a barrel race to keep one of my friend's company (she runs the whole thing) and then to a farm stand for fresh corn, watermelon and peaches.
