New Sort of...

Hi so Ii have been using The Nest since I got married in 09, but never really got into the message boards. So I just wanted to intrudce myself. I am an official work-a-holic with 3 jobs (1 full-time, 1 full-time seasonal, and one part time) and my husband is an actor/stunt man. I have the biggest heart for all animals... well except rodents and bugs they scare me. We have 3 dogs, one of which takes a little more care since she has seizures. So needless to say we dont always have a lot of free time, with everything going on. I am about to either gain a lot of free time or loss what little I had since my husband just got a year contract in China. So I'm pretty sure I may be asking for some support in here while he is gone. Maybe I can make a few friends in here, thanks for reading my post.

Renee

  • Welcome, busy lady!

What sort of work do you do, if you don't mind sharing?

Awesome about your H's contract. I lived in China for a year, and would be more than happy to offer advice if needed! I miss it often.

  • You do sound like a busy woman.  Welcome to the board!  You should totally come to a GTG and meet some of us.
  • Welcome!

I am relatively new in here, too, and this is a sweet bunch of ladies.  Good luck with everything going on...sounds like an exciting time in your life!

  • @ McGillicuddy13: Thanks and I am in the AF Reserves (my part-time), I also work on base as a Civ for my Reserve unit (full-time), and I am an Asst. Manager at Frontier City (full-time seasonal). I have worked at FC as long as I have been in the military, it's my job I love the others are there for pay and benifits.

@ Jesseandbri: I need a cheat sheet for all these abbreviations what is a GTG? Sometimes I think I have let myself get way to out of touch. It takes me forever to figure out what people are saying on here sometimes.

Side Note: I met my husband at FC and we got engaged there. He had them put it up on the marquee by the highway. He told me he had to stop by the park to do inventory or something and while we were there he wanted to see if the new ad for the shows was up yet.

  • Welcome!

    Very cool!

Re: the abbreviations, I was confused when I first started posting here, too. There's a link to the left called "Nest Board Glossary" that will help out tons. Nesties are abbreviation-crazy.

  • Oh thanks a bunch!!! I didnt see that link over there. Once FC goes back to weekends my evenings during the week will free up and I'll be looking for stuff to do to keep my mind off of my husband not being here. and come Nov. man I'll really be trying to fill my time. So long story short I would love to come to a GTG.

  • Welcome to the board. Wow, you are a busy lady! Definitely make some time and come to a GTG.

  • Welcome! We had our annual company picnic at Frontier City this year. First time I've been, since I'm a wimp when it comes to amusement parks!

  • @ SunnyDaze31: Do you mind if I ask which company? I hope you enjoyed it we have changed a lot in our catering area, mostly the food (or at least all the guests would really notice, if they are with companies that come every year).
