Party Menu Help: Pool "Tea" Party
Avery is on a tea party kick lately. I booked Noah's Ark months ago, so now she is saying she wants a pool tea party. The party is from 2-4. What would you serve that would be considered pool tea party foods that wouldn't get disgusting after being outside. Food will be in a shady area.
Thanks.
Re: Party Menu Help: Pool "Tea" Party
I'd probably do tea sandwiches. PBJ, cucumber or whatever, cut into triangles with the crusts cut off. Then some other finger foods, like a fruit tray, veggie tray. You could do miniature scones too, but I don't think that's necessary.
Flavored iced teas to drink. Some lemonade to mix with them for the kiddos (and adults).
Instead of a cake I'd do petit fours.
HP's ideas are good - I was going to suggest any sort of sandwiches that you could easily cut into little triangles or other little shapes.
I'd definitely have some lemonade or punch or something for the kiddos, as a lot of them won't care for tea even if it is mixed with something (although when Kayla was little and went through her tea party kick, she and her friends would drink warm tea with lots of milk in it).
Yep they had a big rack of them at HEB last week, at the end of the bread aisle I think.
I like the cut up tortilla roll ups with cream cheese and/or guacamole and turkey. Although, not sure how long they will hold up in the heat.
You can put some cut fruit out with toothpicks and see if you can put the bowl on ice.
Would you think Cheese quesadillas would be bad (aka go bad)? I'd think mayo would just as fast as quesadillas.
What about freezing fruit in cube trays to use as ice cubes for the tea?
What about turkey dog bites? Like a hot dog in a bun cut into 3 sections. That would be small and would fit on a tea party plate. Or those little corn dog bites, little pizza bagels, litte pizza bite things, mini tacos. Man can I come up with junk food for kids or what?
This blog has some cute ideas:
