cleaning factory dust-skum

My roommate works in a parts factory and comes home with the metal dust, ect all over him.  Every shower he takes results in...a grey bathtub that I can't for the life of me clean.  I can't follow him around the house ALL the time to wipe things up instantly and I can't leave it forever because it only gets worse.  Any cleaning products powerful enough for this?!  We're moving out into a house soon and can't have that mess for the landlords to be upset with us for.

  • The only thing I can think of would be to cut back on the amount of this dust that comes into your house.  Do you think you could ask your roommate to change into clean clothes before coming into the house?

    Leave his work shoes outside?

    other efforts like that?

  • Would you be able to split a gym membership so he could take a shower elsewhere before coming home?
  • My Dh does the same thing. He always has weird industrial nasties on him and they really pile up in the shower. The only thing that has worked for me is the kitchen Mr. Clean magic erasers with the extra scrubby side. I've heard a lot of other things but nothing else has worked for me. And those little OxyClean packets are great for the laundry.
