Sarah and Megan.....

I know you did B-shoots before the weddings... any advice?  My shoot is next Friday and I'm super nervous!

Re: Sarah and Megan.....

  • :butting in: I did my bpics after the wedding too. Just relax and be yourself. I did my bpics with the same lady that did our epics and wedding so I felt comfortable around her. Do your makeup heavier than normal (I did a smokey eye), I think it shows up better in the pics. I didn't do this but others have had a drink before the shoot to calm their nerves. I loved this shoot and was so excited to give Andy the book bc he had no idea!

I did mine after the wedding too. I agree with Allison&Andy about doing heavier make-up then you would normally. I had my make up professionally done and I was really worried I wouldn't look like me, but they turned out great. My photog offered a hair and make-up package with the shoot so I added that on. But you could probably go to the MAC counter and have your make-up done.

Try to relax and just be you, it will come across in your pictures. I had a hard time with not smiling, because I am so used to smiling for pictures, I had to really relax and not think about it. Your photographer should help put you at ease and you will find your groove.

    Have fun!

  • butting in here too - I did bpics as a wedding gift for K and it was so much fun!

I did have a nice martini before hand and that helped. I agree with the makeup comments - I didn't wear a ton of makeup but I never wear any, so that did help out.

Just have fun with it, and be open to poses/suggestions from the photographer. What are you wearing? I got a corset/bustier thing from fredericks and wore lacey boyshorts. I did some photos in the boyshorts and just a white button down too. It was fun :-)

  • Wine! And bring a friend with you to drive, just in case. :)

Hair and makeup was included in my package, so I didn't have to worry about that.

Start with the outfit you're most comfortable in, and work your way up to the more risque ensembles!

And just relax and have fun. You'll feel like a supermodel, and it'll be wonderful!!!

  • Wow!!! I had no idea so many other ladies had done these!! Jason and I are staying at the hotel the night before (no day-rate available) so the photog is coming in the morning after and we're doing the shoot then.  I'll be sending JP out while we're shooting.

Good call on the alcohol- loving the idea of appletini's MMMM!!!

Outfits are relatively similar- Gap bra and panties (charcoal gray, lavender, and this coral color),  JP's white button up, one of his favorite ties, then a black bra and panties.  I tried looking for outfits at Fredericks and Victoria's Secret and couldn't find anything I liked, so I think I'm going to go for a relaxed, hanging out, feel.

ETA: I've been practicing my makeup... from MAC, and am still struggling with making sure it's heavy enough.  I get nervous putting so much on because I normally don't wear so much!

    Hmmmm, anyone do nude?

  • The other ladies had great suggestions! I loved doing mine and would actually like to do them again sometime. I did semi nude. Topless from the back just so you could see an outline of boob. That might actually have been my favorite shot from the session.

I had a topless shot with my arms crossed, wearing over the elbow black satin gloves and a thick bracelet that said LOVE on it. It's my favorite from the whole shoot!

I really want to do these. For myself just as much for someone else. I think it would really make me feel great about myself.

Topless.  Some with my hair covering my bitties or my hands covering.  Even bubbles.  Took some in a bubble bath.
