Dog ladies

Re: Dog ladies

  • No, but I imagine it's possible as dogs are susceptible to other sorts of bacterial infections like yeast (Cosmo gets yeast infections in his ears... eww).

  • Our pediatrician wants us to give Toby a round of antibiotics because Luke is exhibiting symptoms again. I have a call into our vet. The vet tech that I talked to said most dogs would show symptoms. Toby has such a sensitive stomach that I don't want to throw antibiotics his way unless absolutely necessary.
  • That's a tough call. I imagine the pedi's concern is Luke & Toby passing it back & forth to one another. I think I'd trust my vet on this one though.

  • I've heard of it. Our vet told us that dogs can pick up just about every common case of the yucks that people get, though there are lots of dog illnesses that we *can't* get from them. I'd tell the vet what the ped said and let them decide. If strep is a serious risk to the LO, I would personally opt for a little potentially-unnecessary stomach upset for the pooch.
