Guilty Summer Pleasures?!?!

Let's dish! What is a guilty pleasure you can only indulge during the summer? Feel free to share multiple GPs as desired! Stick out tongue

Re: Guilty Summer Pleasures?!?!

  • What do I love to enjoy during the summer...reading LOTS of chick lit! And doing it while lazing around, perhaps having a glass of wine (or five!) It might sound super lame, but during the school year, I don't really get a lot of spare time to read for "me" so the fact that I have already finished 4 books since my holidays started 2 weeks ago is FANTASTIC! (I just read Shoe Addicts Anonymous and Secrets of a Shoe Addict by Beth Harbison - great reads!)

This summer is the 'summer of getting organized and decluttering" [I always like to have a theme for the summer holiday...] so I have been having fun riffling (sp?) through tonnes of 'crap' and getting ready for a yard sale. This GP is another "lame-o" but I love the feeling that 'purging' leaves - it's so refreshing to get rid of stuff and it's like I have gained so much more space!

Okay, so these are the most 'juicy' GPs, but alas, tis what is tis! I am CERTAIN that someone can out do me!!

  • My favorite summer GP is Big Brother!!!!  I love love love it!
  • I have two summer GP's...I love that I have all the time in the world to keep my nose in a book for as long as I want! I never have the time or the energy to read during the school year! I've read 4 so far...I'm addicted to the Janet Evanovich series. Her books are great!

My second GP is that I have time to craft and make whatever my little heart desires...newest crafting obsession...yarn wreaths. ;-)

If I had extra money laying around, I would also use this time to paint and spruce up the house. But since I don't...the house will just remain as is for now. :-) Sleeping in is nice too...guess I have more GP's than I originally thought! :-P LOL!

  • I trade in my wine glass for a tall Gin and Tonic. Mmmm mm mm.
Holiday Image and video hosting by TinyPic
  • My biggest summer GP is probably drinking. Crisp, delicious beers and mixed drinks. Mmmm.
  • Ditto reading ladies - summers are where I read some really back chick lit, but also anything that gets into my hands - love reading on the beach and in the backyard... if only there were no mosquitos in my garden, I would probably read dawn to dusk.

Summer dresses - summer gives us the biggest excuse to forget about two separate clothing items and put on dresses - love love love dresses. You can get great deals almost everywhere and I cannot stop spending my money on dresses.

  • Overkill on pedicures and healthy doses of vino or afternoon drinks are two of mine.

I use the excuse that it's flip flop season, (tho even when it rains it's still flip flop season where I live) for the pedis.  It just feels oh so right during the summer to have fun colors on your toes, and neat looking feet!

And when I have lunch with a friend or even at home with the hubs, I have an adult beverage with my meal midday.  :-)

And the reading thing, of course, anything I can get my paws on but especially crime novels!  I also love to re-read my favorite books...like the Thursday Next series, and HP, and The Princess Bride...Oh I just have tons of GPs I guess! Yikes...!

Your husband must love summers :)  My husband needs to sleep in sub-zero temperatures so I actually wear my winter jammies.

    Love ponytails too!

lol--There is just something about summer that makes wearing pjs wrong.  Especially when the windows are open and a warm breeze is coming in.

I just saw you live in Cleveland... I miss nice cool breezes at night. Used to have a lot of them in Poland. In NY the only things coming in at night is icky humid air and mosquitos.

  • Drinking fuzzy navels. Yummy! Its like summer in a glass.

A cold beer after doing yard work.

    Pretty summer dresses.

Opening all the windows at night to cool off the house. ( not really a GP but oh so wonderful!)

    Laying out in the sun.

Loud music in the car with the windows unrolled driving on the freeway.

Camping and fishing. When I sould be doing other more productive things.

    Smores :)
