I am looking into one for now and defiantly after the baby gets here. Where do I find one?
I was one, but it was family friends starting in 6th grade and going from there by word of mouth. I can't think of anyone we know other than family (which would be a trek from Yorktown to our house or LaGrangeville to our house plus both girls have 2 sports and other things).
I would want 2-3 days a week after school for 1-2 hours, so I can clean up, make dinner, run errands (I would take baby with me or both +helper).
Any ideas?
Re: mother's helpers
i don't know of anyone but i know what you are talking about.
What about care.com? I went on there once just to see what was available in the area.
def try the high schools in Sept, my mom works in a HS guidance office and lots of parents ask for kid recommendations for sitters.
I used to be a mothers helper too when i was little
Navy...there are some older teens on there.
And the rec is a good suggestion. I forgot that I took a babysitting class when i was like 12 so that you could get on the list of local kids. I basically babysat from 12 on.
Thanks.. I took a course at 12 through Putnam Hospital and started babysitting from then on too. Figured now I would give some young girl a job:)
