Happy Friday everyone!
The AC in our office began to die yesterday so today, the lights are off, the shades are closed and everyone is dressed as scantily as possible for an office setting without scandalizing each other. I'm almost hoping it dies completely and they let us go early!
What's everybody up to this weekend? I think we will head to camp both days if this heat keeps up!
Re: Heat wave / TGIF
I'm planning to spend as much of the weekend as I can get away with inside the house (we have 3 window AC units and a not-so-big house, so it should stay under 80 degrees in here). I did promise DD that I would take her out to her kiddie pool (on our porch) after her nap today.
Tomorrow is my 5th anniversary. DH is taking DD to the Lowe's Build and Grow tomorrow morning, then in the afternoon the ILs are coming over to babysit and DH and I are going out to dinner. Nothing fancy...our big anniversary gift is our trip to Maui in a week and a half.
Sunday we'll go to church in the morning and after than I have no plans. Probably just hang out around the house.
I'm taking a half day today because Abe is almost out of baby food. So I get to hang out in a hot kitchen baking sweet potatoes and squash. Awesome!
Tonight: Maybe swim in Abe's pool. Maybe go to Grampie's to swim in the pond.
Tomorrow: Maybe go to Damariscotta to get an Ergo. MIL wants me to take Abe to her friend's party but I sort of want to do what I want/need to do. He isn't a spectacle. Maybe going to Freeport to return some stuff. Maybe going to Peacock Beach.
Sunday: Beach day? Maybe a photo shoot in the evening.
Lots of maybes!
Today I'm trying to bust my butt and get some editing done. I have been unproductive all week and so far today isn't looking hugely better.
Tomorrow I'm working all day. I can only pray that there is a good breeze on the coast because I look like a roasted pig as soon as the temperature gets above 80. I am so screwed.
Sunday I'm going to my parent's house to see the family and take tripod family pictures of us all together. My sister is moving to North Korea next week and I won't see her for a year. So expect me to be a blurbering mess for the foreseeable future. We've never been more than 3 hours apart for more than 2 weeks since we were born. It is going to be rough.
Today - Trying not to die of heatstroke! It's so hot in here so I have all the windows and shades closed hoping the a/c cools it off but it isnt doing much good.
Tomorrow- We need to mow the lawn, go to the post office, and probably just relax. I think DH is taking DS to Lowe's in the morning and then after that just hanging out.
Sunday: Church in the morning, then a lobster bake at MIL's on the water in the afternoon. Im hoping its nice and cool at her house!
Today: An errand or two, trying to stay cool in front of the fan (no A/C except in our bedroom), and then making lavender ice cream and possibly a lemon cake for dinner tonight at a friend's house...
Tomorrow: No idea yet. Maybe Harry Potter in 3D up in Farmington? Maybe hanging a wall-mount for our TV upstairs?
Sunday: Still no idea. If Saturday's plans didn't happen, probably do 'em Sunday.
Today-Work...our AC is on full force so I am ok being here today instead of outside.
Saturday-Probably going over to my dads for most of the morning to enjoy the pool then later we are headed to Skowvegas to go out to dinner at the Hertiage House and then to see a play at Lakewood theater that DH's co-worker is in.
Sunday-My nieces 5th birthday party. Then Sunday night is our 2nd annual Christmas in July. I am a huge dork and started this last year. I make cookies and hot chocolate and we watch a Christmas movie. This year I also got DH and BIL(who is living w/us) each a present.
I am happy things will cool down a bit by then, I still may have to ice the hot chocolate though haha
With the exception of hitting the farmer's market first thing tomorrow and going to the pool, I will be inside all weekend. At 8:30 this morning the heat index was already 100 degrees. Boo.
Given the craziness of last weekend, I am looking forward to a calm stay-in weekend with Matt, watching movies, maybe a No Reservations marathon, making a chocolate silk pie, working out, etc.
Tonight - Birthday dinner in Portland
Rest of the weekend - H's greater family vaca at the south Jersey shore.
I love that idea!!
Tonight: We will probably go out to eat and see a movie. I'm thinking "Horrible Bosses" ?
Tomorrow: All day Childbirth 101 class at Maine Med. (at least it will be air conditioned!)then Local 188 for dinner
Sunday: relax
So excited to meet Peanut this fall!

Today: Working. Our A/C at work is about to sh!t the bed and has been like this all week. It's not hot in here, but it's not as cool as it normally is.
Tonight: DH and I are going to camp. I can't wait to jump in the lake tonight to cool off! We have no A/C (or even shade from trees!) at home, so it's been a hot week at our house. Might have some friends come with us too, not sure though.
Tomorrow: More hanging out at camp. Not sure if we'll head home Saturday evening or Sunday morning.
Sunday: Not sure. Probably just gardening, cleaning, grocery list, puttering around the house and other such exciting things. I want to do some baking/cooking for the freezer at some point too.
Me too! Iced hot chocolate may be the way to go this time
I really want to see that!
Thanks!!! I just wanted a fun tradition for us to have.
I just went outside and I now totally agree with the iced hot chocolate haha
It's sad when I break more of a sweat leaving the gym when I did inside!
Today - staying inside, too freakin hot! Tonight - think we're headed out on the boat to get some relief from this heat.
Tomorrow - Stuff around the house and then we're headed to SoPo to get Caroline's pictures taken.
Tomorrow night- MIL and I are headed to Stonewall for a cooking class.
Sunday - Church and then not sure if we'll head up to Harris Farm's event or not. May stay home or head out on the boat again.
Update, as I suspected - Matt already emailed me asking if I want to go to camp tomorrow.
I went out for lunch and felt too icky to eat anything so it's Iced Coffee Take Two. Hmmmmm maybe this heat wave will help with my weight loss.
So hot- so very hot on preggo!
Today/Tonight: Laying low for the rest of the day and reading my newly acquired books from the Border's liquidation. Probably going to grill something tonight since no one feels like cooking. I can't believe the mercury is reading 105 here today, crazy!
Tomorrow: More than likely heading to Boothbay for the day where it should be a little cooler. My best friend's dad is having his 65th birthday party, so we'll probably hit up that for a while- maybe a boat ride to get Sprinkles bouncing around???
Sunday: Relaxing, getting all of our stuff in order, since if I have not gone into labor by then I will be reporting to L&D on Monday morning at 7AM...
The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware; joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware. -Henry Miller

LOVE that there is an end in sight!!! Come on Sprinkles lets make a move
Today: Evie and I are chilling inside with the a/c on, shopping ideas for Christmas gifts on Etsy since I want to be done by November (won't have much time in December). Going to my friend's Scentsy open house then out to dinner since it is too hot to cook.
Tomorrow: Pretty much the same as today
Sunday: Farmers market in the morning then stuff around the house.
After work I took Marcus and Henry to the beach for a bit so Henry could have a swim. I scored a kayak for a $100 from my neighbor, so that was cool too! Now I'm holed up in the a/c bedroom eating flavor ice. Tomorrow we're heading to Pemaquid Beach in the morning to meet my BFF's from Rockland. Sunday MH and I are having a Harry Potter date.
OMG...105 today! YUCK!
Today my mom and I took Taylor to Kittery to go shopping. The goal was to get her some shoes since her Tevas were too small. We ended up with 3 pairs of shoes from stride rite and a pair of keen's from lamey wellehan. It was miserable when we had to get out of the van and then again when we had to leave the store so there wasn't too much getting in and out. Now Chris has gone out to get Subway for dinner.
Tomorrow--I wanted to go to Chris' aunt's camp but he doesn't want to go, so I think we will be getting a kiddie pool for Taylor and a hose so she can be outside for a little while and also have something to do when Nana watches her next week (DCP is on vacation). We also have to get groceries, which I'm dreading since we have nothing and it'll be painful on the wallet.
Sunday--cleaning if I haven't gotten that accomplished tomorrow. Maybe watching a move.
Friday, I putzed around the house trying to stay cool. tim got home super late from his trip to Vermont. I'm now at work (boo!) bored silly until 3:30pm. It's quiet enough to get on here quickly!
I'm hoping to hit Cresent for a late afternoon beach trip and dinner. I love summer!
Sunday - shopping for wedding attire for next weekend's trip to a Vermont Lesbian Wedding!! CAN NOT WAIT! Although I've offered to do the flowers (all of them) since I have some experience. They are doing wild flowers and have no real expectations except for casual and pretty. Should be interesting :-)
So hot. So don't like it so hot. <pant pant pant>
Yesterday I was happy to be at work in the A/C. I got back from a one day trip to NJ Thursday night and was happy to just veg with meetings most of the day. We got out early and sat around after getting pizza takeout for dinner.
Today we've got a BBQ at Little Sebago with the bellydance gals in the afternoon. I should probably get showered and dressed and to the grocery store sooner rather than later. I need to make some sort of dish to share and I've got no ideas.
Tomorrow we'll go down to my parents' in MA to hit the pool and for them to watch James that night. Why are they watching him that night? Glad you asked! I won a pair of suite/box seat tickets to the Rihanna concert at the Garden while at my work meeting! There are privilges to working at the sponsor company of the TD Garden. I'm not even that big of a fan of hers, but DH and I are looking forward to getting spoiled with the free food & drinks, private bathroom, and inside A/C room for when we don't want to be on the private balcony! (It isn't totally private- we'll be with a bunch of random other employees, customers and auction winners, but it's close enough!)
I'll work remotely in the morning on Monday since we wont' get home until late. It's looking to be a fun weekend, though all the chores around our house aren't looking so good for getting done. Oh well!
Coming in late but...
We spent yesterday on our dock having a picnic, swimming and taking Eli for his first kayak ride. He loved it! He and DH went out to a little island on the lake to explore and pick blueberries. It was super cute. Last night we went to a rehearsal for a wedding DH is in today.
This morning we went out to breakfast, DH and Eli got haircuts, visited DH's family and went for a run. Headed to the wedding this afternoon and hoping it doesn't get too too hot. It's an outdoor wedding, but really casual, so they're going to have a kiddie pool and stuff set up.
Not sure about tomorrow. I think DH will be landscaping. Eli and I may head to Borders to check out the sales. We'll see what other fun we find!
Coming to this really late. We have no A/C, so I spent Friday taking leisurely drives with the kids, crawling around the Burlington Mall, and seeking refuge at my sister's house. Yesterday I had to work for a while, did some grocery shopping and FINALLY did some grilling/eating in the yard for dinner. Tried to convince Owen to eat a hamburger -- no luck.
Today we may head up to my sister's summer cottage for a kid's pirate party in the afternoon if it isn't still raining. We'll be going nowhere though unless I get off my butt and do some laundry, or else Owen will be going pantless.
