Job Title Needed!

I started a new job and they asked me to select a job title for myself- but I'm at a loss.  I was going to say "Project Manager", but it's taken and they don't want me to have the same title as someone else.  So here are some of my duties- all ideas are appreciated! I work at a injection mold manufacturing company.

Inventory Control
Quality Control of product lines
Efficiency / Six Sigma / Lean of manufacturing lines
Supervision of Staff
Evaluating production for determination of staff requirements
Website Design
Establishing new clientele
And whatever special projects they throw my way.

Any ideas are appreciated- TIA!

Re: Job Title Needed!

  • Wait, so they can't come up with a job title as a company, and they can't have more than one person with the same job title? Both sound very odd to me.

    Project Director?

    Production supervisor?

Those tasks are all over the map

    How about "Boss", JK!

Wow, you are doing a variety of different kinds of duties at your job.  I would think about how your job is different from the already present "Project Manager" at the company and change the first part of the title (project) to a word that summarize how you are different.  Like- Sales Manager, Advertising Manager, Production Manager, Web Producer?

  • Hmmm...is there any one thing that is really your MAIN responsibility?  Maybe highlight that?

    Head of Operations

    Operations Manager

    Project Supervisor

    Head of Business Operations

    QC Manager

  • LOL- I asked for "Master of the Universe" but they said it was already taken :)

Thanks for the suggestions- I'll try to evaluate my duties and see what best suits it.

It is a small company- and they didn't really hire me for a specific "position" but more to do analysis of their business practices and help streamline and improve efficiency, but all of the other stuff is getting lumped in slowly but surely.  I planned to be "Project Manager" but they said they would like me to have a different title as the current "Project Manager" has a different set of duties... it's all really confusing to me because I've never worked in a manufacturing setting nor have I done anything in this capacity- and I interviewed for "Project Manager"- thanks for all of the suggestions- they are much appreciated :)

Oh believe me I know, lol.  I came on to work on their efficiency, and a bunch of new stuff has been lumped in.  It has definitely morphed- but it is keeping me busy- that's for sure.
