I do agree that the Facebook status going around is really obnoxious. Here is a status from a guy I went to high school with. Thoughts on this?
"Seriously? How many people are going to post about not complaining how hot it is because our soldiers have it worse and they are protecting us?"
He then went on to comment...
"Did
we force them to go over there? No, infact we paid them to do it. We
paid them to go to a country thousands of miles away to fight an ideal.
To fight not an army, navy, or airforce but something not even physical
at all. They are supposedly protecting
my freedom but in reality they threaten it everyday. One they threaten
it by helping terrorist groups gain more followers. People don't want a
foriegn army on their land. I wouldn't like it here and they don't like
it there. As we anger more people that's more people willing to
sacrifice their lives to threaten ours. 2nd the troops threaten my
freedom by spending MY MONEY. Like I said we are paying them. We are
paying our soldiers to occupy 100's of bases around the world causing a
foriegn policy of 1.2 trillion dollars. Our deficit just this year is
1.6..... I know the politicians are fighting what to cut I have a pretty
quick cut that gets us almost there. As the value of our dollar
declines my way of life... my freedom is threatned. If this is
protection please stop. I am fine on my own."
Re: RE: The annoying FB post
Wow, that is an interesting article.
I don't know how to say I can *almost* see some of his (my FB friend) points without getting flamed on here! But, I do believe there are a lot of costs that can be reduced, it really is an obscene amount of money that is spent each day, each minute. I was just curious to see what anyone else thought.
