I was going to suggest this
I went to this place when it was chain o lakes and loved it. It's in cleveland so it'd take you about an hour and a half to get there. 2 night minimum, they do have a few 1-rooms cabins available but they also have a lover's package, hehe.
The 2 night minimum could be sat/sun if you didn't want to get there tonight.

Horseshoe Bay Resort. It's awesome! We go there a few times during the summer. Marble Falls is the little town like 5-10 mins from the resort. It's on lake LBJ. They have 3 pools. The Yacht Club pool is the best. They have a beach on the lake.

mb, a cabin sounds lovely but i know my big hairy husband isn't gonna want to get his butt outside and enjoy nature when it's this hot. he is a mosquito magneto! i have heard of that place before though, it looks soooooo fun.
