Meanie - MIL related

I'm going to get an earful from my MIL-ish this weekend.  One of A's friend's needed an emergency heart transplant and actually got a heart thursday night.  A wanted to go out to Chicago to see him (even though he probably won't be able to) incase something happens and bring K with him so she could see his family.  But he was driving and leaving after getting up at 10am and working until midnight.  Its a 12 hour drive.  There was no way she is getting in the car with anyone w ho has been up for over 24 hours driving.  Luckily, he understood but i'm sure his mother will have something to say about me keeping K in NY with me.

My thoughts exactly!  You do what is best for your child, reguardless of what your MIL thinks!

  • I was kinda surprised A didn't pick a little fight with me.  In the heat of the moment, I definitely used the words "my daughter".  He calmly said to just check with my mom that she would be around because I'm on call this weekend.
  • I can't believe you're letting him drive 12 hours after working a full day! Hope he gets there safely.

I understand why you wouldn't let your daughter go too - I wouldn't either unless I could go along and do the first leg or so of the driving if I was well rested.

    Hope his friend is OK.

i didnt really want to, i suggested us all going next weekend.  he's concerned that something was going to happen to his friend in the mean time, and i can't say i blaim him!

  • I don't blame you...

hope you don't get that earful

  • I hate people sometimes. LOL. I bet if the situation were reversed and YOU wanted to drive that kid midway across the country on no sleep she'd have something to say about it.
