Shoe organizer for livingroom

I'm looking for a shoe organizer that's not too expensive and not too bulky to tidy up our stack of shoes. As it is, they are piled on a mat in the dining room beside the table because my toddler likes to cart them around and chew on them. I need to keep them in the dining room away from her, but would like them to be a little neater looking than just piled on a mat. Suggestions?

When you say bulky what do you mean? We used to have a stacked set of white shelves for shoes. Maybe 2-2.5 feet long, as deep as an average pair of shoes. It worked fine for us, but I'm not sure if that would be too bulky or not nice enough looking for your dining room. I'm 95% sure it came from Bed, Bath and Beyond.

I have something like this. They sell them at Target and WalMart also. I love how it is more compact and doesn't take up too much floor space.

I'd like something that looks more like a piece of furniture than just a wire rack. We probably have 7-9 pair of shoes to put in it.

I just bought this for my entry way. It doubles as a bench so you have a place to sit for putting shoes on. We usually go shoeless inside/or slippers in winter. It was more expensive than I wanted, but I couldn't find anything else similar that was a nice looking anywhere else.

Have you checked the ones at Ikea? They have great storage solutions for shoes available in a variety of prices.
