One of my cats threw up on my rug. Apparently if you clean jute with Resolve it lightens it...oops. So now I have a white streak running through my rug. I need to get a new one, but I can't decide.
It's for this room to replace the rug pictured. Yes, it's on carpet, but I feel like the rug makes the random furniture look better.
#1 - It says grey/blue - $173.
#2 - Turquoise - $385
Obviously I like the price of #1 better, but I think I like the color of #2 better, plus all the accents in our house are turquoise. I don't think the grey/blue will look bad, but it kind of depends on the shade.
Thoughts?

Re: Help me pick a rug
This was my thought as well.
agreed. i also like the brown better. but both rugs, particularly #2, are great. i'd just worry about spending so much if you end up having to throw it away again.
At first I thought no patten too, but the minimal pattern of these I think I'd like. I've always kind of disliked the brown rug since it's a framed rectangle and the mirror above it is also a framed rectangle.
I think at this point I'm going back to no rug. If I get another jute type I'm assuming I'll have the same problem if I have to clean it.
Rue La La has rugs right now and there's a solid green that I like, but it's green jute and I only like the soft version. Gaahhh - annoyance!
I just want to find a rug I like under $250 - is that so hard??
I agree w/ Madame. I think the color choice will be fine. Or if it's something that will really bother you, keep looking. In the meantime, turn your current rug around so the streak is under the furniture if possible.
But don't trust my judgement. We bought an $80 rug from Bed Bath and Beyond because it was big enough and cheap enough and we have kids - who tend to spill things and throw up and la la la la la.
I tried to turn it, but the chair legs made indentations and I can't fluff them. I can on the wool part, but not the jute part (which is also making me want a regular rug this time - not the jute).
I still can't decide. I'll probably end up with a streaked rug for a few months until I can figure it out.
