XP - price on a Rebel XSI EOS digital camera kit?

My friend is selling her barely used (less than 15 times) DSLR. It includes a 18-55mm lens, battery charger, strap, a filter lens, camera case, reflector. She only wants $475. Is this a good buy?

Re: XP - price on a Rebel XSI EOS digital camera kit?

  • That seems pretty reasonable to me.  Looks like the basic kit (camera, lens, cables, etc.) sells for $685 on Amazon.  In a quick google search, the ones I see priced in the $475 range are also used/refurbished, and it sounds like she's throwing in some extras as well.

  • Thank you. I did a quick google search but was overwhelmed with everything and figured it would be easier to ask someone on here for their input!

  • You're welcome :)  And FWIW, I'm a big fan of the Canon Rebel/Eos series.  We've had the old (non digital) Eos Rebel X ("Image is everything"), the 20D, and now the T2i, and I've adored them all.
  • We just got a refurbed T2i from Canon's loyalty program for $515.  We love it!!!

Sidenote: DH was able to use some program to see how many times the shutter has gone off, only 220 times!!!  Our camera was practically new for such a good price :-)
