Does anyone have one of these?

Re: Does anyone have one of these?

  • Yes, but we have the older version.  With our version, it's more like having an iPod with iTunes on it.  The new one, from how Bill explained it, is for rentals only, so you could rent from both Netflix and iTunes.  Our Apple TV actually has movies we've bought on it.  However, we don't use it much any more now that we have DVRs in the house.  Although, I think Bill does have some TV shows on there that he scheduled it to buy every episode of a particular series (or three).  Since I have never rented from iTunes, I don't know how long the rental period lasts.  I know you have a certain amount of time that it's there for you but, once you start renting it, you only have a certain amount of time to finish watching it.

The only thing that I would caution you about (and I don't know if this even applies to you):  iTunes has had a bit of a feud going with NBC.  Last year, we had to wait for most of the season for Chuck and The Office to finally show up there.  I'm not even sure if some of the other shows ever even showed up.

    Summer,

I hope this helps.  If you have other questions, I can ask Bill later tonight and message you with the answers.

  • Thanks Julie. We ended up going with a Roku. :)
