Good morning! It's my first day as a SAHW.... er, SAH(dog)M. I'm off work now until Vdub makes her appearance and I feel soooo free! I don't miss my job a bit. No big plans, just taking Pumpkin for a hair cut, stop by the library, and grocery shopping.
It looks like they're going to want to induce if I make it to my 40 week appt. Thursday, so we could potentially have a baby Friday, but I'm not sure I want to be induced. Their concern is her growth though, so of course I'll do what's best for her. We'll see Thursday, cross your fingers she comes on her own

Re: Happy Monday!
Well, geez, VDub.. HURRY UP!
I think today is going to be a good day. Why? I started it out with a 69 point game-winning word on Words with Friends this morning.
Yay for impending babies!
I have a new sitter coming for a couple hours this morning to meet/watch the boys while I work, so I'm excited, lol. DH and I got some serious housework done this weekend! I reorganized our two pantries, which should help me a ton with meal planning. DH started painting the boys' room. It's going to look awesome! I'll post pictures when I'm able. We also finally got most of our vegetable plants settled in their permanent homes, and they're going wild!
On a down note, DH was flooring in the attic, and stepped through part of it, luckily without hurting himself, though not without scaring the daylights out of me. It's over the garage, so not a huge deal, but we have to replace the sheetrock in that spot. Take a few things off the list, then add one!
I'm really enjoying working again. I only put in about 10 hours last week, but I have another client in the wings already! I'm charging a flat rate per week right now, so I'm trying to make myself as efficient as possible. My goal is to have enough work to only be paying half (or less) in childcare. We'll see how that works.

Happy Monday!
Ashlee- Which doctor do you see this week? Some are more induction happy than others. If your on the fence, ask for a growth ultrasound before making the decision.
Happy Monday!
Ashlee- I hope Violet makes an appearance on her own. Enjoy being home!
I didn't manage to get much done yesterday so now I have to pack for my trip and get stuff done around the house today. I always wait until the last minute to pack so it's not really a surprise.
I see Boyd. I met with Gutewitz (the new one) last week, and she was the first to mention induction post 40 weeks, but they've all been mentioning over and over again growth. She'll be smaller but not that small... like 20-25th percentile, so not a huge concern...but the fact that I'm still having morning sickness and haven't gained any weight the past 5 weeks is why they're now like, okay well you'll be 40 weeks, we can induce and it might be best. Still sounds like it's my choice, but they'd maybe recommend it?
"My 101 List - Updating asap, I swear!
Today is DH's birthday so we both have the day off. Right now I'm "helping" him put mud flaps on his new car. It's freaking hot outside.
Btw, Ashlee, I meant to respond yesterday but couldn't get online much. It sounds to me like they're not recommending it, just offering it as an option. Many women hit that point and are like, Ok, I'm done, make it happen. And if you feel that way, that's certainly an option. Just percentage-wise, though, it's best not to induce if you don't need to. There's a 6% increase in risk for c-section with induction in general. This is from Henci' Goer's studies:
The ideal candidate for elective induction is a woman who has given birth vaginally before, whose cervix is ready for labor, and who has begun to dilate. This, of course, is also a woman who will almost certainly shortly go into labor on her own. In descending order of probability of success would be a woman with a prior vaginal birth or births whose cervix wasn?t quite ready for labor, a first-time mother whose cervix was ready to go, and a first-time mother with a long, firm, closed cervix. A woman in the last category has truly dismal chances for vaginal birth; as many as half of these labors will end in cesarean section.
So, if they do think it's a good option and you're leaning in that direction, request that they check to see if your cervix is ready and if you're dilating. If so, it's just a push in the direction you're already going. If not, it could end up being a waste of energy.
