It's been a while since I've posted on the boards, but I thought you ladies would have some experiences with this.
I'm considering having intralasik and I'd like to hear anyone's experiences, especially if you had it done in the Austin area. I'm a -4 in one eye and a -4.50 in the other with astigmatism. Both places I had consultations at said I would be a candidate.
What do you know about the differences between the visx 4 laser and the Allegretto laser? Has yours lasted you? Has anyone gotten lasik and gotten pregnant within the following month and if so, did it affect your vision? I'm considering Mann Eye with Lisa McIntire and Austin Eye with Dr Shannon Wong.
Thanks for your help
Re: Austin Lasik patients?
DH just had Lasik on Thursday so I can only speak from an outside experience but he has loved it every minute since then. He went to Dell Laser Consultants and did the intralasik. He's still sensitive to sunlight but that's to be expected and is getting better every day. He discovered he had developed an allergy to his contacts so he was off of them for a month before the surgery instead of the standard amount of time. He's being treated with stuff for dry eyes which was a condition before Lasik but otherwise keeps saying how much he loved it and would do it again at double the cost. I think it's going to get pretty expensive because now he keeps saying how his sunglasses are scratched and how much the house needs to be painted. He said it was more invasive putting in his contacts than doing the surgery.
His Rx was -2.25 and -1.0.
Good luck with whom ever you choose.
