Any local gardening experts out there?
Re: Any local gardening experts out there?
First, your blog is open to invited readers only, so that may not help.
I am no expert gardener, but my bet would be that it's the heat. I think everyone's plants are having trouble with it, no matter how much water they get. My garden is really taking a beating. I'd love to hear any tips for dealing with it.
It's best to water in the morning rather than at night. By watering in the morning, they have all day to dry out while watering at night keeps them wet over night and prone to disease and mildew.
Have you checked closely for bugs? You might have something attacking your plants. I'm currently dealing with stink bugs in the cukes and squash bugs in the zukes. Last year I had a white fly infestation.
Also they may be getting too much sun. My basil leaves scorched from the sun, so I had to move the pot.
