so I almost killed myself last night
For some reason I got up and used the hall bathroom in the middle of the night. I was totally asleep and don't remember why I did this at all. Anyway, as I'm coming out of the bathroom, I thought I was in our bathroom, which is straight in front of our bed, but the hall the bathroom is right in front of the stair case. I'm walking away, rubbing my eyes, and I walked into the side banister while my foot was in the air to take another step and/or fall down the whole stair case. I immediately woke up and was so scared by what almost happened that I almost fell down. It was sooo freaky and weird. I've never slept walked/sleep walked in my life. I told DH about it this morning and he said actually I got up 2x and used the hall bathroom. He thought it was weird, but its not that unusual either. He said if I do it again, he'll talk to me so I wake up. I'm still kinda freaked out that I did this and how bad it could have been.

weird!! I only sleepwalked once as a kid, I ended up outside in my front yard staring at the moon at like 4 am. It really freaked my parents out.
so you went to the bathroom in your sleep and didn't wake up until you were exiting the bathroom? that is crazy! did you start any new meds or anything recently? that can cause it......
put those baby gates back up! lol. seriously though, glad you didn't fall down the steps-that would have been awful.
I am glad you are okay. That is pretty scary
My Dad recently did this, but he actually fell down the basement stairs. He bruised his tailbone and his ego, but luckily other than that he was fine.

OMG that would terrify me, especially after already breaking my foot falling down the stairs. I'm glad you're okay!
The baby gate might not be a bad idea, though, in all honesty.
