SCAL & cricut

Can these no longer be used? I know on the MTC website it says you can no longer use their software with the cricut, and on the SCAL it doesn't list it as being able to use it. But in my google searches it looks like you may possibly still be able to use SCAL.

Did I miss the boat?

Poop.

If I can please tell me how! Thanks!!! (I knew I shouldn't have procrastinated and then ultimately forgot to get it)

ETA : if this is asked 1000 times (which I'm sure it is) I'm so so sorry! I looked in the FAQ and didn't see anything - I'm too ADD to scroll right now...SORRY!

Re: SCAL & cricut

  • You can no longer purchase versions of MTC, SCAL, or Fairycut that work with the Cricut. People who purchased the software and haven't upgraded to the newer versions can still use them with their Cricut, though.

Sorry! There are some great new cutters coming out this fall with software (some are shipping with MTC!), though- ditch the lame Cricut and pick one of them. :)

  • So lame!!! Thanks! (now to butter up the husband for the purchase of a new cutter)

I hear you can download the plug in for Make the Cut. My plugins are in a folder within the program file so I know people have it out there to download because it's easily accessable. Also, SCAL can be found on ebay but you'll pay a lot for it. Last I heard the bid was at $200! I would get a new cutter. There are so many out there or coming out that blow the Cricut away and are compatible with the 3rd party software. I sprung for a Silhouette Sd but they're going to sell the Silhouette Cameo soon for $299 and it's a 12x12! I tend to use mfy Sil more than my cricut..
