another stupid baby question
do you think we'll get any use out of sleepers? I washed the NB clothes last night and we have about half a dozen cotton sleepers. Maybe at night in the AC?
We have about the same in 0-3, and 4 or 5 of those gowns deals too, but since they'll only be 2 mo old in October I can see using those a lot assuming they're not giant babies.
It doesn't REALLY matter since we returned all the stuff we had receipts for, but I'm just curious (and turning into one of those crazy mom people...)
Re: another stupid baby question
I don't think your baby questions are stupid! I had my fair share as a new mom
I think you you will. There are some summer nights that tend to get a bit cool. What if you guys go somewhere one evening near their bed time? It will be nice to have them in something comfy that you can just put them down in when you get home.
Plus having half a dozen with two babies isn't bad at all! You might pack them all for one night out if you have babies who tend to spit up.

We used them every night for the first almost year, I'd bet.
Remember, too, P was born in July, and he was a hot kid, and we don't have central air. He may have just had a diaper and t shirt on underneath, but we did use them a lot.
ETA: He would not stay swaddled, so this was our alternative. Had he liked being swaddled, we probably wouldn't have used them in the summer, but most likely would have in the winter (when we used fleece ones).

I think you feel their chest to assess body temp. Don't rely on how their extremities feel - feet/legs are normally cooler to the touch, but if their chest area is super hot/cool that is how you know their core temp needs help. I think. I'm sure a real mom can chime in :-)
This is the textbook answer. Babies are also good at fussing when they aren't comfortable. You really do just figure it out on the job, all of you are going to be great moms (and you all already ARE moms - so none of this "real mom" stuff, Claire!)

love this.
agreed, I think you will probably use them
