MOMS!

What was something that someone brought you right after you had your baby that you loved?  Could be for the baby, but preferably for you?

I'm hoping I get to meet a new baby and see his mama very soon, and want to do something special for her.  I'm trying to come up with different ideas and needs to be something I can run out to the store and buy today.

Thanks!

Re: MOMS!

  • Honestly? When people brought food. I know it's so "typical", but even when STBXMIL brought pre-made salads from a local grocery store, it had never tasted so amazing lol.

  • What about trashy magazines and a bottle of wine? If she's not BFing, she might really appreciate the wine!! Wink

This. Red Robin was one of the best meals I had ever had!

I like Amanda's suggestion of wine if she isn't BFing too!

My mom still recalls my uncle bringing in her favorite ice cream after I had her. It's even in my baby book.
  • She will be BFing, so that's out (although I might pick up some of her favorite beer to take to her later, it's the only thing she really missed).  I think the food will be taken care of; lots of other family members, especially on the daddy's side who will do that.  I'll try to bring her dinner later, when the inevitable string of visitors slows down.

We had planned for me to take her out tomorrow for pedicures and lunch, so I'll give her an IOU for that, but I was thinking of something else - like things we as new moms don't think to bring to the hospital. Magazines are a good idea. Maybe chap stick, things along those lines.

    Thanks for the suggestions!!

  • I'm not a mom (or mom-to-be) but if it were me, CHOCOLATE CAKE! Or cookies, or brownies...you get the idea. Wink Does she have a sweet tooth, or a salt tooth? Some kind of special snack/treat she enjoys? Have fun!
