Re: registry poll

  • 1) still have a registry going (why or why not)? we have a BB&B and Crate and Barrel that I think are active until 1yr.

    2) What is left on yours (items?)  not a lot!  we only received about half of our crystal and no sheets, but other than that we pretty much got everything else.  I had 2 large showers (one out of state with DH's fam and one local with my fam) and the majority of people gave us gifts for the wedding rather than cash.

    3) what is the total value of things left?  not sure.  The crystal was waterford so maybe $1000 total left.

    4) favourite item? my favorite was my china.  It's Lenox Opal Innocence and it's just so dainty and pretty.  Dh's favorite gift was our Wustof knife block set.  I think he pretends he's on iron chef-- hehe.

    1) Yes, one, because it stays active for 1 yr. The other is gone.

    2) All sorts of stuff: china, various kitchen things.  We were pretty choosy about what we put on them because we have so much, and we buy good quality kitchen stuff.

    3) About $1500, but that includes the Dyson vacuum that remains on the registry because we bought it at Costco. We also got mostly cash and not a lot of registry items...which was fine with us Big Smile

    4) Our favourite item has become the vertical rotisserie.

    Fifth Anniversary

    1) still have a registry going (why or why not)?  We still have ours.  It never expires, and my parents and inlaws asked us to keep it up and add to it for ideas for Christmas, birthdays, and anniversaries.

    2) What is left on yours (items?) All of our china and flatware.  And a hudson bay blanket.

    3) what is the total value of things left? $4000 (obviously we too got mostly cash at the wedding.  We got almost no presents at the wedding, because people knew we were not only travelling, but we would be crossing the border and have to go through customs as well)

    4) favourite item? Our dishes definitely!

  • 1) still have a registry going (why or why not)?   Our BBB registry is still active (I think they stay active for 2 years after the event).

    2) What is left on yours (items?) Food processor, pillows, down bed topper, steam mop and some other miscellaneous things.  Nothing we need, just want!

    3) what is the total value of things left? Probably about $700

    4) favourite item? We registered for a Roomba, no one got it, but we used giftcards for it.  I love it because it keeps the dog hair at a tolerable level in our house.

  • 1) still have a registry going (why or why not)? Yes, only becuase they keep them online for a year after.  Bed, Bath, and Beyond and Crate and Barrel.  We've told friends/relatives to purchase of those for birthday/anniversary/Christmas.

    2) What is left on yours (items?) Lots of everyday items that we already had but registered for nicer ones ... we'll get them when we need them

    3) what is the total value of things left? Maybe $1500

    4) favourite item? Probably my Shark steam mop!  I love it and it's super easy to use.  Also, my china.  I also registered for the Lenox Opal Innocence ... classy and timeless!

  • 1. We bought out all the remaining stuff on our BBB registry that we wanted, and almost everything on our Crate & Barrel one too.

    2. A few things we've added that could be "housewarming" kinds of gifts, so we can take advantage of our final registry completion 10% off @ C&B

    3. Maybe $1000?

    4. Fav thing we got: All-Clad copper core cookware set - it's SOOOOOO pretty and heats so well and evenly; it makes cooking a dream!
Fav thing we didn't get that's still on the registry: Decorative wall art piece...http://www.crateandbarrel.com/decorating-and-accessories/wall-decor/circuit-wall-candleholder/f8964

  • 1. We still have out BBB registry, but I haven't checked it in a really long time, until today.

    2. We have some sheets left on it and some things like knives, a salad bowl, some really cheap kitchen utensils that we just haven't gotten around to getting, and a kitchen cart.

    3. Less than $1000.

    4. Favorite thing we got: Kitchenaid Mixer

Favorite thing we didn't get: the kitchen cart
