I am looking into getting a tshirt quilt made and have no clue where to start. I googled it, but I'm kinda hesitant to send all my shirts somewhere and hope they send me a quilt. Anyone have one of these made?

Re: t-shirt quilt

  • A very close friend of mine made one for my baby shower almost 2 years ago.  It turned out beautifully.  Since then she has made 2 other ones for family members.  She is really talented.  If you want I could check with her and see if she would be interested in working on another quilt.  Let me know if you would like me to email you some pictures of the quilt she made me to see if that is what you are looking for.

  • That would be great! My email is jloliver at umd dot edu

    Thanks!

  • If you are looking for a T-shirt quilt, stitch?T is a family-owned New York City based company that creates quilts, wall-hangings and pillows from people's prized collections of T-shirts.

My family started stitch'T 10 years ago because we needed to do something with all our T-shirts. After decades of traveling, concerts, sports teams, high schools and colleges our family amassed large collections of T-shirts, sweatshirts and jerseys. All this stuff left us with overflowing shelves and jam packed drawers and closets.

stitch?T was born by the need to shrink our own T-shirt collections and we soon found out many other people shared our dilemma of what to do with all the memory filled T-shirts.

Here is a link to a couple T-shirt quilts we just finished up for graduation gifts.

If anyone has any questions about how to make a T-shirt quilt themselves or wants to know more about stitch'T, please visit www.stitchT.com and/or e-mail us at info(at)stitchT.com.

Also, we would be happy to post a step-by-step instructions for making your own T-shirt quilt to this forum if someone would be kind enough to point us in the right direction.

Best of luck with your T-shirt quilt search,

    Judy
