Belly button in pregnancy
Ok i thought this was common to get an outie belly button during pregnancy? But the dr today (not my normal drs) said that i have an umbilical hernia which will likely require surgery to fix when we are done having kids? I was a little taken aback by her statement. Anybody else heard this before.

Re: Belly button in pregnancy
I think having your belly button protrude to some extent is normal. I'm guessing for most women it mostly just becomes flush w/ their skin. I know for some it sticks out a ways and is uncomfortable. My neighbor had to have hers repaired after having kids b/c it also was herniated and was uncomfortable and never went back. I'd just having it evaluated by a surgeon when you are done w/ kids and see what they say.
I agree with PP. I would wait and see if it 'bounces back'. K had an umbilical hernia, and it was just a wait-and-see kinda thing, and it closed back up on it's own.
If you have a C, would they be able to fix it then?
