What is everyone up to?

Hello! It's been a while since I have been able to regularly check the nest, so I was just wondering how everyone is doing?

I went to Maryland to visit my family including my fabulous sister (who is a big nestie on the Baltimore Board and the pets board.) Then my dad came back to Boston with me and we hung out for a day. We went to the top of the Pru. which was a little cheesy but kind of cool, and then we had lunch at B&G Oyster which was amazing! Last Thursday, my first boyfriend from college was in town and he, his partner and their son came over for dinner, which was great. This weekend we went up to Maine to spend time with SO's fun family in Wells. It's been a busy, crazy summer, but I'm having a blast!

Hope everyone is doing well. What are your favorite New England things to do during the summer?

Re: What is everyone up to?

  • Ginger!  I have been missing you.  Did you take your ballet class yet?

I have been hiding out from the heat.  Ha ha ha.  Really I haven't been doing anything super interesting.  Today I took DoggieCrushing for a nice long walk at the farm since the weather was finally dog friendly.

  • It sounds like you've been having a great (and busy) summer!

We haven't done much this summer, things have just been so busy. And it's almost August, so summer is coming to a close and I've basically missed most of it.

Oh well. Fall is my favorite season anyway.

This. Luckily we don't have much planned for the next few weekends so we can just relax. And once we hit Sept, college football Saturdays!!! Plus, DH is going to be enrolling in a grad program that starts in the fall and between work and coaching, weekends will be his only study time - so ya, we won't be doing much in the fall either. Which is fine by me!

    me too!

  • Nice to see you back, Ginger!

I don't know how the summer is flying by so fast.  I'm having travel withdrawal and with everything that's been going on with our families we've had to postpone or cancel any trips we've tried to plan this year.  We're hoping that Cabo in the fall with some friends is going to happen though.

Otherwise, we've been playing a little bit of volleyball, seeing friends, BBQing...nothing big.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Don't be jealous yet; there's still plenty of time for yet another problem to come up and cause us to have to cancel this one, too Stick out tongue

We live right by the town lake and I've been dying to go kayaking, but we've either been too busy or the weather was too hot, etc. Summer is always way too busy. Sometimes I feel like I don't enjoy it enough. August doesn't look to be quite as go go go for us so hopefully we'll get some kayaking and sailing in.

Other than that we've been continuing to finish our basement and are finally get carpet this week, so we're super excited about that! And I'm hosting (with the other BMs) a bridal shower Saturday.

  • I am very familiar with your sister if she is who I am thinking of.

Why don't you post on pets?!

I always loved grilling out/outside potlucks in the summer up there. No mosquitos and the chilly summer evenings always made me very happy. We used to do neighborhood potlucks in the little park 2 blocks over in my 'hood and they were so much fun. Since we had a cop in our circle, we got away with the public drinking :)

Super jealous! We went to Cabo for our honeymoon - loved every second of it!

I'm not sure why I don't post on pets... I love my little Celie (who is sleeping right beside me now...) but I've never really checked out the pets board.

    xmaryrickx is my sister.

One of the things I love most about our condo is our little garden. We eat outside as often as possible. We love it! Although, tonight it is supposed to storm.... oh bother.
