  • Oh ok. I wasn't sure if I should just trust any dry cleaner that claims they do wedding gowns.

  • I also used my local dry cleaners. They sent it out to a professional wedding  dress place and it came back in a fancy box all cleaned and preserved, It was only like $150 or something like that. Rather then the $300+ a bridal place will charge.
  • i used a better quality local dry cleaners - jolene's in nanuet. by better quality, i mean i take my formal dresses and suits to them and trust them. they're too expensive for usual work clothes, etc. they do a beautiful job!
  • I went to a woman in FIshkill who works out of her house.  She was recommended to my by the woman who did my invitations.  She cleaned the dress (spotless) and boxed it.  I didn't have it preserved because when I am eventually pregnant she is going to make it into a christening gown for me.  She was $40.

They used to charge between 300-400 back in 03.   They specialize in clothing preservation. They did lots of work for people cleaning clothing collections ruined in apartments around ground zero.  If you think you might want to use it somehow again I recommend them. If you just need it cleaned I would use a local cleaner.

  • NYBride and Kendra -- where did you get yours cleaned?  Thanks!
  • I shipped mine off to WedClean, which is based in Florida. They did an amazing job cleaning and preserving it for a little over $100 or so.
