April 2010 Siggy Challenge: Next Vacation Destination
What's your next vacation?
Are you dying for summer to be over or dreading winter?
Would you ever consider having a "second ceremony (or vow renewal)" to commemorate a milestone anniversary? Like say, your 10th, 20th, 25th or 50th?
Or was the first time perfect enough to last a lifetime?
That's a good one! I ask DH sometimes about this, and he says he would marry me again, but just the two of us alone somewhere. NOTHING like our real wedding, which was a big formal affair (and, yes, it was AWESOME enough to last a lifetime - we had the best time!)
I would like to do a repeat of our honeymoon, maybe for a big anniversary. I'm curious if any of you have thought about doing vow renewals?
What is your favorite fruit?
What language do you wish you spoke and why?
That sounds so nice!!
I read that Heidi Klum and Seal renew their vows every year on their anniversary, but I guess if money was no object...:-)
But I would like to also do a more private renewal at say, the 5 year mark - just us on a really nice beach and then we stay there for maybe a week or so.Then, at the 10 year mark, have a more public renewal with our family and closest friends. Not formal or large like our first wedding either, but still at a nice venue and I can get to wear a really pretty dress again :-))
50 sounds great, but in all honesty, we may not make it that far, as we were not exactly spring chickens when we got married :-) So we gotta do our partying a "wee" bit sooner!
This is true! I think it's so cool because (as she describes it in interviews) they more use it as an excuse to get all of their friends and family together every year, rather than it being all about them. I would totally do the same thing (or at least every 5) if I could afford it because it makes me sad that all of those wonderful people who are important to me will likely never be in the same place at the same time again.
