Interview me?

I'm here, with a wiggly baby on my lap.  I don't expect a lot of questions since I've been MIA so much, but I'll answer anything and everything. :)

If you were an animal, what would you be and why? A house cat.  I love sleep and they sleep all day (and night.) My cats have such cushy lives, I get jealous sometimes.

If you had a time machine, would you go into the future or into the past and why? I'm a little scared of the future, so I'd go into the past.  I've always thought it'd be fun to be alive during the Roaring 20s, but I wouldn't want to live through the coming Depression and the war.  So maybe I'd pick the 60s.  My parents have such great stories from back then.

Favorite sweet food? Dark chocolate. Alone or in just about anything.

Favorite savory food? Spinach artichoke dip gets me every time, if that counts. Or garlic and herb roasted red skin potatoes.

What's your favorite part of being a mom?  Biggest adjustment? Kyler's smiles are the highlight of my day, every day.  No matter how tired/mad/frustrated I am, his smile makes me smile back and remind me how worth it he is.  I love seeing him grow a little more each day. The biggest adjustment is getting used to sleep deprivation and not being able to do whatever I want whenever I want.

What is your favorite pastime? Running.  I went for a run/walk last night to slowly get back into it, and I was quickly reminded how good it felt and how much I missed it.  Listening to music is one of my other loves but I combine that with running. I'm not one of those purists who refuses to run without headphones. :)

How many kids do you want? Just two.  Really hoping to have a girl next because we've always wanted one of each.

If you could move anywhere, where would it be and why? Probably Washington or Oregon.  I've never been (I was born in WA but my parents moved when I was 1) but I'm told it's absolutely beautiful and temperate up there.  And they're blue states. :) I think I'd fit right in and love the weather.

How do you stay motivated to keep in such great shape? I'm not in great shape right now, believe me, but I'm slowly working on getting there.  While running keeps me in shape, I do it more because I just like the feeling of a good run.  I don't like the feeling of struggling while running or feeling sick/tired. I like to feel free and relaxed and you need to stay in shape to run like that, so that's where my motivation comes from.  I also like to do well in races.

Any fave baby names if you ever have number 2? For a girl, probably Eiley, Aleyna, or Rayna. If it's a boy, the only other boy name I've considered so far is Christian.

Favorite alcoholic beverage? Mojitos, but they're hard to get just right. I also love the raspberry margaritas at a Mexican restaurant here.  And the raspberry martinis at my favorite seafood place.  And red wine.  Um, I just really like booze in general I guess. :)

    Your favorite...

Food? Pasta, sushi rolls, peanut butter, dark chocolate, spinach enchiladas, sweet potatoes... I like everything!

Movie? Anchor Man is right up there.  I also love When Harry Met Sally.

Song? Too many to name just one, but right now I've been listening to Happy by Secrets In Stereo a lot.

    Color? Red

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Two kids.  Living in the same house.  Either still at my current job or in nursing school/working as a nurse (this is greatly contingent upon Craig getting a big raise so I can take out a loan to go back to school and do it juggling two kids.)

Do you wish you have had done anything differently in your life to this point? Gone to nursing school or majored in Health Education instead of English.  Studied abroad in Quebec or France.

Where would you love to go on vacation? Hawaii, Paris, Rome or the Bahamas.

What color is on your fingers?  Toes? Fingers are clear.  I can't do color on them. My toes are always painted a red or pink hue though.  Right now they are OPI's "The Thrill of Brazil."

When do you go back to work?  How do you feel about it? August 29th.  I'm not looking forward to it. I have a good job but it's nothing special and I'd rather be a nurse.  I'm also really upset at the idea of leaving Kyler at daycare every day.  It's an excellent facility but I'm going to miss playing with him all day. I never thought I'd want to be a SAHM, but I can now see the appeal.

If you have a baby girl will you encourage her to go into our sorority? Absolutely.  Though I wouldn't push her to pledge our house if there was one at her school that she felt she fit in with better.

What do you think Kyler's going to be like as he grows up? I have no idea. I just want him to be a warm, friendly, optimistic, respectful man.  I'd love him to be like Craig, but without Craig's impatience. And I hope he can sing like Josh Groban. :)

How are the cats doing with the baby? They ignore him mostly.  They want extra attention from us though.

What's your favorite place to eat in St. Louis? I love the paella at Guido's on the Hill. I used to love the Drunken Fish but I've heard it's gone downhill. And the Chocolate Bar = yum. :)

Do you want to come to St. Louis over the holidays and have a GTG with me and Neuner? YES! Craig and I were thinking we needed to get down there anyway to visit the rest of our STL crew and have them meet Kyler , so I'd love to get together with you guys while we're there!
