I complained to USAA

about the articles linked on this page...

https://www.usaa.com/inet/pages/advice_getting_married_united_main#military

A) They let women in the military. Some of those have husbands, since it's not quite allowed for them to have wives.

B) Everything else is really obnoxious, especially in the Cin C House article. FI and I were just talking this weekend about how I cannot force myself to socialize with people just because our SOs have the same job. That doesn't mean WE have anything in common.

I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.

I'm sure she meant she was measuring 47 weeks.  Not hard to do when there are multiple babies in there. :)

I love how no one responded to your actual post .... anyways, your link goes to the USAA Military page, but not an actual article.

Notice that the bolded in the OP says that the articles are linked on the USAA page.

Is the CinC article you mentioned the one that's labeled "Tips for Newbies"? I do agree that even though I knew  and hung out with some of the other wives in K's old unit, we didn't really have anything more in common than our due dates.

He just switched to a new unit and we're going on a marriage retreat this weekend in hopes of meeting more people between the classes.

I would LOVE to make couple friends with some of the other couples from either of our jobs. Sadly, the people at our age/life experience range tend to outrank FI by one or two ranks because he got out and got back in. I hope it works for you guys!
