Is it just me or is the google group slow too?

I check it every so often when I remember and I feel like there is not much new over there either.

I really miss this board when it was active and fun. The google board is boring to look at IMO.

I guess I just can't see myself really getting into the new board...although I am trying b/c I miss a lot of the nesties who are not here anymore!

I feel that way, too! I miss everyone and wish people were around. I'm hoping it picks up after the summer!

Actually, the google group set up is deceiving. I don't know if you can change the set up like you can in here, but when posts are replied to they don't move to the top for me, so often times I have no idea that a post has a new reply unless I click in. I think it's pretty active.

Maybe I should try to mess with the settings. Does someone here have the link? It's saved on my computer but I'm on the iPad and the computer is at work.

This board always got slow in the summer though. I'm sure both sites are being affected by this annual phenomenon.

I think most people feel it's pretty active. It's most likely the "format" you're viewing it through. Try this: https://groups.google.com/forum/#! and then look for the link that says "new format". Does that help?

Private board that many (most) of the girls here created / joined after a couple privacy issues within a short timespan. Many girls lurk here now, replying and posting occasionally, but for the most part, everyone's posting there.

I was never really a "regular" on here (for the exact reason why the google group was created) but I've given up this board. I come on here once every few weeks and rarely is something new posted. I signed up for the google board in the beginning but I was away for a few weeks and didn't post so I was removed. It's too much work to email artsake and request to be added again.

I think it's sad because no one new will ever get to join because there is no one here and they won't know or be invited to join the new board. I know in the past the board has been referred to as being "cliquey" and I think this just reinforces it.

The point of the new board is to avoid lurkers because of what happened to one of the Nesties with her privacy. It's not to be "cliquey". And I know for a fact that Amy let The Nest newbies know that if they actively post over here and become recognizable, then they are welcome over there. The board wasn't made to exclude, it was made to avoid a$$holes who feel it's their right to air our dirty laundry.

I'm still posting here. But, as the moderator, I've been helping out some of the moderators on the national boards with their spam issues until the admins take care of the issue for us. And, some girls never switched over to the google group.

But, like I said before... It's summer. We *always* notice a slower board in the summer. I've been on the Knot, the Nest, the Bump for nearly 10 years now! I'm talking from years of experience with the ebbs and flows of the board, notwithstanding the new group. With the nice weather, who wants to be sitting in front of a computer and posting? Early morning / late night posts, if that. I know that while I check in during the day, I don't really sit down to post until after my kids are in bed. And (refer to my first paragraph) I have been a bit preoccupied in my Nesting with the national boards.

This is way better!! Thank you! Do the newer posts come to the top of the page or do you have to scan them all? Can you star a post to watch it? This is so much easier on the eyes!
