It's like beating a dead horse

But I have to say it.  Put your dogs on a f-ing leash.

On my run this evening, we were running on the left side of the road with an oncoming walker/dog on the right side.  Moe was running so well, and when I see another person, I try and put myself between person and Moe so he doesn't get too distracted from running.  Alas, walker had his dog on a extendo and the dog ran across the road.  Before the owner caught on, the dog pulled the leash out of his hand (which then un-extended itself) and I'm left running with a dog chasing me whose leash is 18 inches long.  (Yes, I stopped to hold the dog while the owner came to get him).

Grrrrr....and my run was going so well!

Re: It's like beating a dead horse

  • gah! I was just going to make a similar post.  On my way home from work last night, I saw two dogs walking along side the road (Brookdale Dr- not a slow side street.)  I watched them as I drove past, because a few people were outside in their lawns, but they walked past them all.  So I turned around and found the dogs walking into a park.  I pulled over, and thankfully- one of the neighbors over there had a leash and some treats.

We got the dogs to come over to us, called the owners and no answer. I called a few more times, then called the cops.  20 minutes later, as we were waiting, the owner (?) popped out of a fence way on the other side of the park and whistled at the dogs, who went running back.  No thanks, nothing. And she had my phone number, because I called her.  I was pissed. And you could tell the dogs were super tired and hot and thirsty... they also smelled horrible. I was so sad :( But at least they had tags?

  • Ha!  Yea, the tags....  way to look on the bright side.
  • This is one of my BIGGEST pet peeves.

Me too. In fact, I posted about it in last week's pet peeves post :-)
