Lids up or down?
1) Do you keep your toilet lid (not seat) up or down by default?
2) Do you grill with your grill lid open or shut?

2) Do you grill with your grill lid open or shut? It depends on what we're grilling, but I think H usually grills with the lid shut (he does most of the grilling.)

1) Do you keep your toilet lid (not seat) up or down by default? Down. I will never understand why people leave it up. Even clean toilets are gross.
2) Do you grill with your grill lid open or shut? I'm pretty sure DH grills most items with the lid down. We have a gas grill, if it matters.
Down on both.
It makes me crazy when visitors leave the toilet lid up. Between the cats and the toddler, I think it is best to keep the lid down.

Up and it entirely depends on what's cooking, whether it's just getting seared or cooked through, how hot the grill is, etc etc.
I try to keep the toilet lid closed, but H and I both forget regularly. And my cats like to use it as a post litterbox footbath, and the dog will drink out of it, so we have lots incentive to remember, but we never do.

2) Do you grill with your grill lid open or shut? DH is the grill master. I've never turned the thing on or cooked on it (we're such a stereotype). I believe he grills with the lid shut for the most part, unless we're doing something like pizza or shrimp that cooks up very quickly and should be watched and removed ASAP.
Lid down for me but DH refuses to listen..... this is one of my annoyances with him. He can't even put the seat down. I told him if my pregnant ass falls in, in the middle of the night, it will not be pretty!! Oh and one of our cats loves to play in the toilet, always fun!

I believe that when you flush, tiny particles of pee can fly into the air, swirl around and land on everything in the bathroom, including your toothbrush! So we keep the seat down to prevent that as much as possible, haha. Any scientists on here that can back that up?
2) Do you grill with your grill lid open or shut? I believe DH likes to grill (charcoal) with the lid off.
This is true, and not just for pee! Lots of studies have shown this. Oh and I'm not a scientist, but I do have biology degree, does that count? lol.
having said that there are plenty of times in our house the lid gets left open (as I always witness the cat drinking out of the toilet).

Toilet - Down. This has been drilled into DH since he was potty trained and I had to learn the habit when I first started going over to my in-laws house. Now it is automatic.
Grill- No idea, DH does the grilling.
DH does all the grilling. I believe it depends on what he's cooking whether it's up or down
Down and down
The dog will drink out of the toilet if left open so it is down the bulk of the time. The only time left open is at night or if i'm in the shower, but even the little fingers are roaming the house so it's best down.
We have a gas grill, so the bulk of items are with the lid shut.
Down and shut.
W/ the toilet, DS will not only put stuff in, but he will climb right in if the bathroom door is open. I try and keep the bathroom door closed all of the time anyway.
