H and I are going down to Nebraska for my sister's house warming party. Its not a typical house warming party. She bought a fixer upper a few years ago and its finally finished. It takes us about 5 hours to get there, and we're both possibly taking Monday off.
Should I get her a present or do you think the drive/time off of work is enough? Since she's been there a few years she has the place mostly decorated. I'd bring wine but she's not a huge wine drinker either. I'm bad about thinking outside the box.
Re: house warming gift?
If you are going there just to go there I'd say no present. If it's specifically for a housewarming I'd grab something.
I like to give white serving dishes because they usually go with everyone's colors. Target has some good ones. Mixing bowls with a rolling pin/wooden spoon/spatula is easy.
Let's see...you could also do a "supplies" basket with random stuff like papertowels and swiffer stuff so she can clean her new house.
I'd probably just go to Target/Marshall's and see what catches your eye.
